"I don't want to be a panel of formers instructing the currents on what to do. I'm trying to regain a sense of anonymity. I didn't like it when a certain former president — and it wasn't 41 or 42 — made my life miserable.”

Thank you, and God love ya, Pres. Bush .. God bless and protect them both!!

VIDEO from yesterday

In addition to the breakfast being sponsored by the Bush-Cheney Alumni Association, President Bush will attend the Marine Corps University Foundation Gala this evening, where he is being honored.

Let’s review: “I had to abandon Free Market principles in order to save the Free Market system.”

How’s that working out for everybody?

I always said that Bush’s biggest fault was his inability or to defend himself. He thought it was above the office of the presidency. Maybe he is a little right, but after years of attacks, it wore him and the GOP down.

I voted for him twice and always believed him to be a decent man. I am grateful for his doing his job and keeping us safe, including keeping us safe from algore and Kerry.

He made some mistakes and my biggest regret for his Presidency was his spending. When he signed those big spending bills, he signed away any republican claim to fiscal responsibility.

Even worse, his spending and resulting deficits make it easy for liberals to say tax cuts cause deficits instead of reliably producing economic benefit. We will pay dearly for that mistake.

It's good to see these positive articles (with sane, mature comments at the end) on GWB and Dick Cheney. I have never been so embarrassed up until then as I was on January 20, 2009. They way these two patriots were treated was shameful.
