Favorable views of labor unions have plummeted since 2007, amid growing public skepticism about unions purpose and power. Currently, 41% say they have a favorable opinion of labor unions while about as many (42%) express an unfavorable opinion. In January 2007, a clear majority (58%) had a favorable view of unions while just 31% had an unfavorable impression.
The latest nationwide survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Feb. 3-9 among 1,383 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, finds that favorable opinions of unions have fallen across demographic and partisan groups. Still, far more Democrats have favorable views of unions (56%) than do independents (38%) or Republicans (29%).
Last year, a Pew Research survey found a decline in the proportion of the public saying labor unions are necessary to protect working people, while more expressed concern about the power of unions. In April 2009, 61% agreed with the statement labor unions are necessary to protect the working person, down from 68% in 2007 and 74% in 2003. In the same survey, six-in-ten (61%) agreed that labor unions have too much power, up from 52% in 1999.

You don’t SEIU?................
A Union’s sole purpose is to exist.
Enough Mr. Obama....
What a deal...
One day I called the Treasurer for a clarification on a health insurance question. Hes was very helpful.
30 minutes later he was murdered - as well as all of the other officers and office staff.
The president ‘was just out for coffee’ - and was not injured. In time he was convicted of ordering the hit.
An out of work union dude did the ‘hit.’
The union president was afraid the staff was out to get him or whatever...
Needless to say, my personal opinion of unions is a bit low...
“For the first time in American history, a majority of union members are government workers rather than private-sector employees, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Friday.”

Not really. Everybody in my family, at one time or another, has been a member of a union, usually by force. In most cases they are benign, if you don't consider the long-term harm they do. In some cases, like my father's they are murderous. I won't go into details but a few of his union "brothers" tried to run him off the road more than once in the '60s because he (correctly, after consulting with a labor attorney) disagreed with them on a strike.
I was a member of the Steelworkers in the '70s. There was some debate over whether I had stolen something or not. I hadn't, and after hearing my story management agreed and I kept my job. Where was the union steward? Actively avoiding me the whole time. I kid you not, somebody who was always underfoot (and about 1/4 employed as far as I could tell) disappeared.
So yeah, I can easily see 22% of union households hating the lies, hating the politics, etc. of the unions.

You’re 100% correct. Unions never have, never could or ever will create a single job. Not one. Capitalism create jobs, not unionism.
