I don’t know why conservatives even rise to the argument about CO2 emissions.

CO2 is PLANT FOOD; then the plant gives us oxygen. Where is the problem?

If anyone took the time to look up what percentage of the atmosphere is CO2; even if it were doubled it would be insignificant.

My bad! I should have read the entire article before posting. How Harrison Ford gets his hamburgers is no one’s business. He is a private citizen and pays his own way!

Well, he’s bought into the whole eco-worship thing, so he shouldn’t be surprised when he’s called to task on it by his fellow eco-freaks.

He needs to fly out to Catalina for a buffalo burger. The best part of the trip is walking over to the edge of the runway and looking down at all the airplane bones. The runway slopes uphill causing some pilots to set down in the middle of the runway and roll clear off the edge.

RESTAURANTS – No trip to Catalina is complete without having a buffalo burger. The best on the island are at the airport’s small restaurant, called Buffalo Springs Station. Some locals, however, argue it’s just outside of Avalon at the Buffalo Nickle, though it’s tough to pass on the carne asada nachos (it’s at the helicopter landing; there’s a free shuttle service).

The man loves his cheeseburgers. Bunch of god damned hippies got nothing else better to do.

Hope Ford keeps his trust whip and pistol handy.

how much did his jet trip cost the taxpayers?! This is a complete and utter waste of hard earned dollars! Oh wait, he pays for this himself out of his own income? What a concept? He excercised his freedom to come and go as he pleases?

I suppose the enviro weenies will be complaining at me when they find out I run errands in an SUV. Not only for using the SUV, but having the freedom to run my errands must annoy them too.

General Aviation Caucus takes off in Congres

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association launched a lobbying campaign promoting general aviation, there was no caucus to tap. So association officials did the next best thing: They helped build one.

The House General Aviation Caucus was formed in April by Reps. Allen Boyd (D-Fla.) and Vernon Ehlers (R-Mich.) and now boasts about 50 members.

“As a pilot, I have seen firsthand the critical role that general aviation plays in creating jobs and bolstering the local economy in rural communities across America,” Boyd said. “This bipartisan caucus is an important tool for raising awareness of general aviation, and I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to keep general aviation strong.”

SNIP

" The group intends to keep up the public drumbeat. In addition to landinHarrison Ford for its commercials, it just snagged Morgan Freeman"

Ford had been very vocal on the Obama Administration inviting job loss to small business pleasure pilots, airports etc through reckless rehtoric in proposed replacing aviation excise taxes with user fees, costing aircraft owners an estimated $9 billion a year. This among the other evils of climate abuse while the politicians themselves quietly slipped into their aircraft of choice and "tripped" across the country and around the world.

Well, he did travel all the way from Hoth to Bespin just to get away from that bounty hunter.

I thought that was a little excessive...

I fly my RV 6 A around the state of Florida all the time to go for breakfast or lunch at various airports.
It is called the hundred dollar cheesburger.
I fly at 150 M.P.H. and use 4.5 gallons of 100LL av gas to do it.
UMMMMM good.

Does Harrison Ford still live with Calista Flockhart (who's been dangerously thin at times)?

Maybe he really does need to get out of town to have a cheeseburger.

Or maybe he just tells her that when he wants to get away from her.

Well, I’ve driven over 100 miles for a cheesteak and pizza on two separate occasions. Sinatra at least had the courtesy to have others pick up sandwiches at the same place where I purchased said cheesesteak and fly them to him when on the road.

...Flying is like good music; it elevates the spirit and it's an exhilarating freedom.

Indeed, flying is an exhilarating freedom.

Having flown for a few decades (sometimes for much less than a cheeseburger). I never fail to marvel at the freedom. Flying has inherent challenges, responsibilities, and costs; however I always seem to reflect on just what miraculous technology and freedom is aviation.
