Actually, making sausage isn’t that bad.
I’ve seen a farmer kill a pig, hang it and drain the blood, burn the hair off and dress it for a pig roast. (This is when I was about 8 years old...Dad took me to see where meat came from...the pigs were for my grandparents’ 50th anniversary pig roast.) My family has butchers.
There’s nothing bad dealing with raw meat, grinding it, seasoning it and putting it into casings.
I think Shep’s a weenie boy. I’m a girl!

What?
You mean, it doesn't just come from the grocery store????
[lol. Someone actually said that regarding 'meat' recently. They didn't realize how it got to the grocery store. I grew up on a farm and was involved in
processing many 'food' items.]

I once saw a pig slaughtered, too. When I was about 10, my parents took me to an Amish farm where, among other things, we watched a farmer shoot a unfortunate piggy with a shotgun slug and cut its throat. (Seemed to me an odd way for the poor blighter to buy it.) A peculiar entertainment, I guess, but I wasn’t grossed out.
Normally I don’t think twice about someone paraphrasing Bismarck’s old dictum likening sausage-making to legislating, but in Shepard Smith’s case it raised an eyebrow, since he’s reputed to have a taste for a particular kind of sausage that Anderson Cooper also enjoys.

I like your screen name, by the way. I’m a fan of the book and the Eurythmics’ album, including the song “Julia.”
