What?

You mean, it doesn't just come from the grocery store????

[lol. Someone actually said that regarding 'meat' recently. They didn't realize how it got to the grocery store. I grew up on a farm and was involved in processing many 'food' items.]

Hey Tom.

Yeah, people are ignorant. My grandfather grew up hard...and he didn’t want to be a farmer....because back then it was a hardscrabble life.

So he sold car batteries. Then a guy pegged him to travel into the country and sell groceries to mom and pop stores.

While he was doing that, he saved money and scoped out the area and eventually bought his own Mom and Pop grocery store and opened it in about 1955, I think.

He trained himself as a butcher and trained his sons. So it was a grocery store...locker plant...butcher shop. And a GREAT place to grow up as a kid.

He married my grandma when they both had just their week’s pay. He told her, “Stick with me and I’ll make us millionaires.”

He DID that....but my grandmother has given most of the money away. She’s COMFORTABLE, though.

Anyway...I lament for us now...and the ignorance that convenience breeds....

Also....I want to puncture my eardrums when Rangel speaks.
