Gateway Pundit asks, is there a reason that Team Obama made their new missile defense logo look like a mix between the Obama campaign logo and the Islamic star and crescent?

Reminds me of some early days in corporate life where some of the “geniuses” in leadership thought that introducing a new logo (or some goofy name or acronym) actually made things different/better.

These folks were usually not equipped for real leadership, which usually takes a set of brass balls, courage, and the understanding that making things better is usually painful.

Obama has none of these qualities...so he introduces a logo, as if it is some milestone.

The Washington Times tries to equate this with a coincidence and blows this off as looking more like Obama’s campaign logo...BULL! It looks and is ISLAMIC!!

Actually, it does look like Obama’s campaign logo...in a mashup with Islamic symbols. Check out the Iranian Space Agency logo posted by aphid.

What got my attention was the eight pointed star so I searched. I was not expecting to find this explanation despite my low expectations of the invisible hand these days.

There are many versions of the 8-pointed star. One is known as the "Double Square" (or "Star of Lakshmi ") and is the Masonic symbol of two superimposed squares at 45° angles representing order and disorder (and probably other dualistic concepts).
