AZ-Sen. 2010: Romney endorses McCain for re-election (BARF ALERT)
CNN - Political Ticker ^ | 2010-02-23 | Jeff Simon

(CNN) - Mitt Romney endorsed Sen. John McCain, one of the former Massachussetts governor's main competitors for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, for re-election to the U.S. Senate on Tuesday.

"Senator McCain's record of service and sacrifice for America is honored by all," Romney said in a statement. "But I believe that it is his core values of courage, faith and honor – forged in battle and confirmed by a lifetime of service to America – that make Senator McCain's leadership in the United States Senate so necessary in these perilous times."

Romney said it is "hard to imagine the United States Senate without John McCain."

Romney will pick up chess pieces that McCain left behind through this endorsement.

The Quitter

Do you think you are funny ... or do you just like to argue?

I don't know if you have a favorite candidate or not but IMhO Sarah Palin is a favorite here just because she is AUTHENTIC. She is naturally and reflexively conservative through and through. That's enough right now compared to the rest of the crowd. We're in a culture of phonies. The current Pres__nt poseur and all of the has-beens from GOP 2008 - McQueeg, Romulan, WronGpaul, Huckster, etc. Throw in Newt, Steele, McConnell, Powell and other so-called GOP leaders and you have a conservative base who are starved and thirsty for an outspoken unabashed conservative. Sarah Palin completely fits that bill.

oh ... and she didn't quit. She decided to attack in a different direction.

Sarah Palin leaving her press conference where she announced her resignation as Governor of Alaska. She was also heard to say, "Take that, Onerom99!"

I cannot express firmly enough how critical it is for John MeCain to be removed from a position of power within our own party. He will continue to short circuit Conservatism as long as he remains in the Senate, and at this crossroads, that’s an almost certain fatal blow to our nation.

Well said.

She should have waited to see if there would be any opposition to McCain. Bad judgement on her part. At least, even if she endorsed him after JD came in, she could say she just thought McCain deserves to be re-elected.

That’s it for Romney then. Rush outed him today over this. Romney probably blew any chances of being president. At least Palin had an excuse.

Levin is now talking about Romney blowing it [as I type]. Levin said he was proud to have endorsed Hayworth.

Hey, Mitt, get some medical help. Run.

And Levin was probably able to spin Palin's endorsement of McCain...asking, because I don't know.

I really don’t think he’s the kind of conservative I want in any office. He’s not all that different from McCain,

I think Fred Thompson eventually endorsed McCain in 2008 also.

I guess around here, instead of hating the sin and not the sinner, it’s the other way around......

No spin necessary. She at least has a reasonable excuse. Romney doesn’t, nor does my governor:

She at least has a reasonable excuse.

Are you saying Sarah's endorsement of McCain is insincere and simply politically expedient?

As I understand it, McCain is neck deep in the reservation casino scandals.
