The Gay Infiltration of the Conservative Movement
Accuracy in Media ^ | February 22, 2010 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 02/23/2010 6:18:36 AM PST by AIM Freeper

California Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chairman Ryan Sorba generated a media controversy when he was shown at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) denouncing the organizers for inviting a homosexual Republican group, GOProud, into the event as an official sponsor. In "controversial" remarks, Sorba said homosexuality was unnatural and that he welcomed more debate and discussion about the subject from his political adversaries.

But what many people don't realize is that Sorba's "outburst" was provoked by a speaker who preceded him, Alexander McCobin of Students For Liberty (SFL). McCobin went out of his way to use valuable time from the podium to thank the American Conservative Union, the main CPAC organizer, for making the controversial decision to approve GOProud's participation.

David Keene, a lobbyist, is the chairman of the ACU and personally approved GOProud's involvement in CPAC.

Sorba told AIM, "I think CPAC went overboard this year. I don't think he [Keene] should be sitting at the top of CPAC." He noted that CPAC over the last several years has also allowed groups such as the ACLU to have exhibits at the event.

"What's next?," Sorba asked. "Are they going to have Republicans for Obamacare? Republicans for free abortions?"

Homosexuals are not a problem, it’s when the “Christian right” starts defaming them simply for their sexual choices that I have to step back.

Perhaps it isn't all homosexuals, but the radicalized movement uses any and all means to increase its leverage, so in a way, even those that don't push for special rights/privileges become symbols that degrade society bit by bit.

Those who say that homosexuality is something that should be granted social approval, however, are a big problem.

Agreed! I used my cousin as an example of someone who stands shoulder to shoulder with everyone else here. He doesn't push his social agenda on anyone. I don't approve of his lifestyle, nor does anyone in my family, but that doesn't mean I'm never going to talk to him.

I'm actually a sick to my stomach how many people would damn a member of their own family as if they were a lame horse. That really doesn't speak well to the compassion expected of Christian Conservatives.

As a Conservative, I would rather have a homosexual conservative fighting for me than a religious nut.

Again you are right. What you are overlooking is the homosexual nuts, and those whose self-identification is based on how they respond to their sexual desires are that.

“Trust me, I’m not permissive of his sexual practices, but he’s also an incredibly private person. If you didn’t see him with his partner, you wouldn’t know he was gay. He doesn’t push an agenda. He’s on our side. You would want him in your foxhole with you. He would jump on a grenade to save your life.

Exceptional religious intolerance is exactly that: intolerance. As a Conservative, I would rather have a homosexual conservative fighting for me than a religious nut.”

Spoken like a true leftist.

Whew... this thread is scorching hot. Don't mistake me, folks, I don't support the homosexual agenda!

Repeat...

I DO NOT SUPPORT THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA!

I have a family member who is gay. He is conservative. I don't care how you rectify your beliefs, he supports Palin, he's an active member of the NRA and the GOA, and he believes in the power of American conservatism. He's not a church-going Christian, so don't bash me. I don't support his bedroom behavior, but it's none of my business what he does in the privacy of his own home! That's between two adults and God. If he's gonna burn, it's by his own cognition.

I am a God-fearing Catholic, Second Amendment supporter, and I am a conservative, regardless of what folks like 999 seem to think.

How utterly stupid of you. It's when people like Mark Foley or Senator Craig get into office and "act out" in some manner ~ like undue attention to House pages, or assuming the "wide stance" in public toilets.

I don't care if your cousin donates money to Conservative causes or votes for Republicans. At the same time we have a far greater risk of losing more votes in elections if we have such people in our leadership ranks than do the Democrats.

The voting public holds us to a higher standard, and to win office and gain a majority sufficient to set the legislative agenda for this country we have to purge our leadership ranks of those who turn off the voters.

*stands up*

*claps slowly*

Congratulations, sir, you are the winner of the "Unwarranted Comment of the Day" award.

How about reading some of my previous posts to FR before casting me aside as a leftist?

This is the problem with our country these days: everyone's a single-issue proponent/voter. How about practicing a little open-minded discussion instead of immediately casting someone aside as a leftist because they submit one single post to a point counter to your own religious beliefs.

And the Christians in this country wonder why folks like Obama get voted into office. This "all-or-nothing" mentality is detrimental to your cause, sir.

How utterly stupid of you.

Are you all trying to chase me away? I'm not going to stand down so easily. I take exception to being called a leftist.

It's when people like Mark Foley or Senator Craig get into office and "act out" in some manner ~ like undue attention to House pages, or assuming the "wide stance" in public toilets.

Public... public... PUBLIC! I've not once anywhere in this thread espoused open homosexuality. Jesus, guys, do you read or just spout off at the mouth when you read one thing counter to your mindset? These are PUBLIC representatives who, I agree, should NOT be participating in openly homosexual behaviors.

I do NOT support open homosexuality

What you do in your bedroom is your business. Unless people realize that they can't legislate what goes on behind closed doors, you're essentially espousing governmental surveillance of your entire life. How is it you could call yourself a conservative if you stand behind that meme?

You may be surprised by I as a Christian don’t hate your cousin. I no better than him in fact I’m probably a worst sinner than him.

I truly believe that in the end everyone one of us is either going to be in Heaven or in Hell - forever until the end of time.

I don’t want to go to Hell, And I don’t want anyone else to go to Hell, not you, not your cousin, not even my worst enemy.

And that why I “defame” people like your cousin, because I know there’s a better road than the road he’s on.

To quote, the atheist, Penn Jillete, “How much do you have to hate someone to believe that everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? If I believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that a truck was bearing down on you and you didn’t believe it. And that truck was bearing down on you. At some point I’m going to tackle you.”

It's when they start indoctrinating our children that we draw the line. This never was about what people do in private and you know it.

Obama got voted into office because the Republicans were wasting the public's money like drunken sailers.

Obviously the public voted in someone far worse than any Republican.

In 2006 the Democrats were given control of Congress and the US budget by voters who stayed him ~ fed up with the discovery that even the Republicans had homosexuals in leadership roles ~ and those folks were "acting out" with House pages and public toilets.

I have three kids in school, and religious intolerance is not something I teach them.

“I am a conservative because I am a Christian.”

And that’s fine, I have nothing against that. I’m a Conservative, but there’s things about every religion I agree and disagree with. “Thou shalt not judge” is one of the things I agree with in the Christian religion.
