Newly-seated Republican Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) on Monday joined Democrats in voting to end debate on their $15 billion jobs bill.
Brown crossed the aisle after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) nixed an $85 billion, bipartisan plan in favor of a more narrowly-focused bill.

Hey, he’s more of a “savior” than corrupt Martha Coakley would have been, and I think that was the crux of the argument of those who you think weren’t listening to you. You take what you can get from deep-blue Massachusetts.
Is it really a bad bill? I haven’t read it. Voinivich and Bond are leaving, Collins and Snowe have no worries, and Brown is from the deepest blue of blue states.
Is it a good strategy at this momet to make a bi-partisan gesture, given what’s about to happen in the deathcare debate?
Is the $15b targested to small business or not? Or is it another sham union benefits quid pro quo kickback bill?
So did retiring Kit Bond (R-MO).
I hear ya’. These people live in a bubble filled with knee-jerk reactionaries. They’re their own worst enemy.
What is the problem with the bill? I mean, besides the fact that Harry Reid wrote it? Is it a sham or is it a legitimate bone for small business?
That was exactly my thought, espcially in view of the upcoming deathcare debate.
They’re the same CPAC dopes who voted for Ron Paul in their straw poll.
The thread wasn’t about taxes, you moral Gomorrahite.
He acts like John McCain is his hero so there shouldn’t be any surprise here. Add that to the fact that he is from Mass. and it’s a done deal.
Someone once said not too long ago,
Don't vote for this guy, just because he is not that guy.
Scott Brown held out no surprises. As many have correctly pointed out in this very thread, he told us he was going to vote for a lot of things and we might not agree with him. ...And Ma. still voted for him.
I maybe wrong in this thinking, this morning and this thought may change, but as I contemplate Scott Brown telling us he was going to do what he thought was good for Ma. He may be the only one right now representing his constituency, instead of trying to do the perceived correct thing for the country.
Am I angry with my RINO Senator Voinovich for voting for cloture? You bet I am, but he is my RINO who has failed to represent me and the State of Ohio.
Scott (now known as Charlie) Brown has to reconsider trying to kick the football Lucy is holding....
I just heard heard Scott Brown interviewed by Tom and Todd on WRKO in Boston this AM. They specifically ask him about his vote and his response was basically the bill was “revenue neutral”. He said the money in the bill was already spend and did not add to the deficit, it was simply reallocated in this bill. The one component of the bill he seemed very high on was the tax credit for the capitol expenditures for businesses.
It was a very good interview with tough questions which he took head on. I have not read the specifics of the bill, but I was hoping some freepers could do a synopsis for us stuck at work today.
I will admit it, I got caught up in the emotions of the moment,
I absolutely love that you admit it. Wish others would to. You a good person!!!
Thanks for giving a battle front report! We are pulling for JD!!
And how many right after his election were already to talk about him running for President? In far too many instances, Glenn Beck was right in his CPAC speech.
Or could be trying to subvert the DemospLabRats. You never know how clever Scott Brown is. He’s an LTCOL in the Massachusetts National Guard.
A far cry from his status as a LTCOL in the Massachusetts National Guard.
Bill Bennett and Seth are literally cheerleading for McCain. I had to turn them off this morning, it was absolutely disgusting.
Nice rationalization...what are you kidding?
This is the time for partisanship, this is the time to force failure across the board for the liberals in our country, this is the time to take our country back...not the time to play mamby pamby games with the very same idiots destroying our country.
Just another shining example of how the GOP is going to screw us as well...
