Police: Woman charged with DWI, assault after fighting Canobie Lake guard for her car keys

SALEM – A Derry woman faces multiple charges after attacking a Canobie Lake Park security guard early yesterday morning, police said.

The security guard was at his post near the amusement park's service gate at 12:02 p.m. when a man ran up to the guard shack and handed over a set of car keys, police said. Before running off, the man told the guard to call police because the woman in the car was drunk, authorities said.

However, the incident remains under investigation, police said. The man who took Bubert's keys later told officers he noticed the car traveling erratically, hopped in and went for a ride around the block. After stopping in a parking lot near Dyson Drive, the man got out and took the keys with him, police said.

He described himself as a "good Samaritan" to officers, police said.

But officials describe his story as "extremely suspicious."

I don't know whether I would call jumping in a strangers car and grabbing their keys being a good Samaritan or just incredibly stupid. He's lucky she didn't pull a gun and shoot him, and she probably would have gotten away with too by saying she thought he was a carjacker.

According to the article the guy didn’t just jump in the car and take the keys, he went for a ride with the woman. There is something else going on here with this “Good Samaritan”.
