BRIGHTON, Mich. -- Administrators at Brighton High School said they’re trying to stop a style of dancing they consider obscene on school grounds and recently canceled a popular winter event to make their point.
Officials were concerned students would engage in “freaking" or sexually suggestive movements on the dance floor.
The school required anyone interested in attending the Feb. 6 Winterfest dance to sign a contract beforehand, Detroit television station WDIV reported.

But seriously though. Do you honestly believe striptease as entertainment for kids could have happened in the 50s? Or the 60s? But today it does happen precisley because people didn’t realize that all the steps leading to it were merely the precursors to even more vulgar behaviour. Do you think Sex and the City would have been a big hit in 1955? Do you believe glamourizing prostitution leading to an increase in teen prostitution like Pretty Woman would have been accepted as readily in earlier times?
When I was a child Norway had one TV channel. And life was much like 1950s America (only with higher tech). And then we got a bunch of channels through cable and satelite. And moral decay followed the TVs in the same pattern as the cables were laid. Much as has been the case in other countries. This is not a coincidence.
Children are perfectly capable of obeying their elders. Banning this ‘dancing’ will reduce its impact and popularity.
A few years ago the media reported on a new south-American form of ‘dancing’. -Girls, some as young as seven would dance over a bottle and pretend to tread themselves onto it. You may look at this ‘phreaking’ and think there is nowhere lower to go, but there *always* is. Accept this dry humping now and 10 years from now it may be little American girls dancing over bottles...
It’s not “just” dancing. Actually it isn’t really dancing, it’s foreplay.
The point is that personal restraint based on morality - respect for oneself and others - has now been thrown in the trash. “So what if the girls are acting like hookers (and look like them too”. “So what if the boys are acting like dogs after a bitch”. Then “So what if half the babies born have no married parents”. And one thing leads to another, as winter follows autumn.
The line which isn’t supposed to be crossed is now so far into the disance behind us it’s not even visible. I was in high school in the 60s and a lot of kids did not have sex, believe it or not. If a girl got pregnant, she “was spending the year at her aunt’s” - in a home for unwed mothers, where the baby would usually be given up for adoption. It was consider by most people shameful to be promiscuous.

People who say “we’re just animals” are the reason we are so far down the slippery slope.
Humans have a choice - to follow their baser instincts with no restraint, or to behave like humans - following the basic laws of morality which are enshrined in every religion.
Because so many want a “secular” society - a society where the only rule is “if it feels good, do it”, we have what we have. And the degradation is not static - we’re still heading south, at a fast rate of speed.
