[F]or him to continue to say that he does not hear the Republican party admit its failings or problems is to ignore some of the loudest and brightest lights in the party. From Jim DeMint to Tom Coburn to Mike Pence to Paul Ryan, any number of Republicans have admitted the excesses of the party and done constructive and serious work to correct them and find and promote solutions. Even John McCain has said again and again that the Republican party lost its way. These leaders, and many others, have been offering real proposals, not ill-informed muttering diatribes that cant distinguish between conservative and liberal, free enterprise and controlled markets, or night and day. Does Glenn truly believe there is no difference between a Tom Coburn, for example, and a Harry Reid or a Charles Schumer or a Barbara Boxer? Between a Paul Ryan or Michele Bachmann and a Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank?
To say the GOP and the Democrats are no different, to say the GOP needs to hit a recovery-program-type bottom and hang its head in remorse, is to delay our own countrys recovery from the problems the Democratic left is inflicting. The stakes are too important to go through that kind of exercise, which will ultimately go nowhere anyway because its already happened.
I doubt Beck would deny that there is a difference between Michelle Bachman and Barney Frank.

The only thing they have in common is they are both females.
He should retire before he gets more confused.
The article make many good points ... quite a few notable Republicans have admitted the mistakes of the Republican Party of the past decade.... BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH... when we have idiot Republican Senators marching off to meet with Obama to discuss health care... Total foolishness ...
Conservatives and Tea Party folks have beaten the Leftist - Progressive - Liberals to a pulp - nearly train wrecking the Obama Socialist Health Care Reform freight train...
AND NOW we have Dumb Butt Republican Senators willing to sit down and ‘negotiate’ with the enemy - when the enemy is beaten already .... Good Grief!!!!
The Republicans in the Senate have learned absolutely nothing in the past nine months....
When did Paul Ryan become part of the GOP etablishment? gee whiz
The TEA partiers have indeed whipped up on Democrats and the GOP leadership needs to try and take advantage of that, its all too clear they’d surrender in a minute without the TEA parties.
Thing is, John just keeps on pulling the same old crap.
He is part of the problem, not part of the solution!
Glenn was great as radio talker.
The Pubs need the TP’s a lot worse than the TP’s need the Pubs.
Yes - you make a very good point - we would have the RINO run-away express if it were not for the numerous and massive Tea Party events...
But - I have news for the Republicans who pay no attention — APRIL 15 - 2010... Another massive MARCH on DC - this time the White House... and this time - TWO (2) MILLION Tea Party Folks...
Has Beck ever said anything negative about Libertarians? Has he ever mentioned how their campaign squeaked out a 401 vote win for Harry Reid in 1998? He ever say they are no different than the other parties?
No it isn't. It could be depending on what they say. But to meet? Nothing foolish about it.
Frank's defense of business as usual with Fannie and Freddie is a very good reason to criticize him. But I don't see what anyone gains by snarking about his personal life, particularly when one puts down the fairer sex to do it.
Tea Party accomplishes nothing if it can't use the Republican party as a proxy just as the New Left used the Democratic party.
Absolutely STUPID to meet with Obama... the Left Wing media will not publish or broadcast anything the Republicans say at this meeting. And the Great Unwashed - the American People (as President Johnson call them) will get a one sided story.
Obama and his cohorts will manipulate the entire event - morphing it into a Republican endorsement of the Health Care Reform package ... Obama will use the meeting (as it is morphed and manipulated) to claim Republicans either would not compromise and the 51 vote Reconciliation vote is mandatory -— OR that the Repugs endorse the program... and have the 51 votes - approving legislation.
The Republicans have no balls - or they would Just Say NO! and hold their own event broadcast on CSPAN... sticking their collective thumbs into the Obama’s eye.
The essential point that the GOP continues to miss is that citing such individuals as Bachmann, who has no leadership position (and has PLENTY of detractors withing the GOP “leadership”) vs. Frank as evidence that the GOP is “truly different” from the DNC is bankrupt reasoning.
The truth is that the GOP leadership are a bunch of milquetoast pantywaists and fops. They’re useless. They’re best exemplified by people like Steele, Boehner, et al. Weasels and lovers of compromise, all.
The members of the GOP who have some fire, piss and vinegar in them to take on the uncontrolled spending are marginalized, denigrated and ridiculed - by the GOP leadership as well as the opposition.
Beck is right. The GOP, *as a party*, shows very little difference from the DNC on spending. And the leadership is the reason why. The leadership backed the TARP program, the leadership backed Medicare Part D, among other wild spending programs.
Perhaps - but if the Republicans ignore the Tea Party factions - then the Republicans will lose... big time...
Apparently you’ve not seen too many interviews of Mr. Frank. He is a hot-headed, mean-spirited, rude, hater of anything decent, moral or good unless it benefits the Gay Agenda, Welfare bums, and baby killers. He can dish it out, so let him feakin’ take it.
His sexual orientation aside, he is a DESPICABLE human being.
They have to. Of course they will twist it but they always do. Boycotting the meeting would be far worse. Running away is cowardly and would give the media a much easier time in spinning this against the GOP. Far as the GOP going on C-Span instead....only political junkies watch that. Most Americans would see brief clips of it on the networks with commentary by leftists telling Americans how Republicans dishonored the office of the Presidency by refusing to meet with Obama.
