Pete Wilson and Meg Whitman epitomize everything that’s wrong with the current Republican Party.

I stopped reading Debra Saunders when she used her column to chide those of us who cheer the slow demise of newspapers. She posited that yes, the media had been really tough and even unfair to then majority Republicans and George Bush. She said give them a chance to show how tough they could be on the Dems. Well, we all know how that turned out. Debra Saunders is a tool.

How can a candidate who never has run for office, and ducked every debate to date, dare to try to elbow out of the primary the one candidate who has won statewide office? “

Michael Bloomberg, circa 2001, says “Hello”.
The guy had been a Democrat all his life, changes to “become a Republican” just before the primaries (because he had zero chance of getting the Democratic Party nomination), had never run for public office in his life, and yet not only did he grab the Republican nomination, he used his vast wealth to simply CRUSH his Democratic Party opponent, Mark Green, who was by far the favorite to win, even with just 2 months to go to the elections.

RINOs endorsing RINOs will not build the GOP in California. I wish the California Republican Party would finally “get it.” California would be a Republican state if those people would simply look at Ronald Reagan for the example and follow his philosophies, principles and policies. But no...they think they have to look, sound and act like Democrats to get elected. It fails every single time.

In Maine we have a field of 6 or 7 Pubbies running for Gov. One (Paul LePage) is a true conservative with a business and political track record (very successful 3 term mayor of Waterville) and a wonderful personal story. Then there are several rinos but the state apparatus is backing Susan Collins’ former chief of staff Steve Abbott. Here’s a guy with no experience except a mediocre and brief career in law and 12 years as a Collins bootlicker.

One person actually said that all of the other GOP candidates should just step aside so Abbott could get his message out without being distracted.

I heard this guy speak a week or so ago and I was expecting a polished professional given his Harvard Law background. No way. Needed notes, minimal eye contact, no real agenda beyond some platitudes.

The Maine State GOP doesn’t have a clue.

Steve, Meg’s ads are on TV more often than “Leave It To Beavah” reruns. You...ahem...prefer free media. Meg is kicking your butt. What does this suggest you need to start doing? Take your time, I’ll wait.

Meg Whitman's campaign guru donated max to Obama -- while she advised McCain
"Even as former eBay CEO Meg Whitman acted as a high-profile backer and adviser to 2008
GOP presidential candidate John McCain, her top aide Henry Gomez -- now an eMeg
gubernatorial campaign majordomo -- donated the maximum to Democrat Barack Obama,
federal records show. Gomez, a trusted top insider in Republican Whitman's 2010 gubernatorial
campaign, donated the maximum $2,300 allowed to the general election campaign of Obama
in the days before -- and the weeks following -- the former eBay CEO's high profile televised
address to the GOP National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he accompanied Whitman around the..."

After all the info Glenn Beck gave us about VAN JONES, it’s important to know that Meg “greatly admires him”; “he’s a genius”. If you think I’m making this up - there is a video of Meg saying these very things.

I DON’T WANT HER ANYWHERE NEAR CALIFORNIA.

If you don’t know who VAN JONES is, then do some research and find out .. you will be shocked to hear his views; or see the videos of him spewing his garbage. And .. it was even more shocking that our current president appointed Van Jones to a position within his administration.

You aren’t going to get a decent Republican candidate to do anything in California. In this case tho I’d vote for Arlen Spectre if he moved to california and ran against Barbara boxer.

Why even bother having primaries?

Too bad the Ca GoP can;t answer that question. Their performance is dismal in working to harness the TEaParty energy.. they fail to read the tea leaves.. again.

Instead of having an election, why not just put the governorship of California on eBay?

There is a report somewhere that Goldman Sucks engineered a sweetheart insider deal for her in IPOs while she was at eBay.

http://www.sacbee.com/2009/05/24/1887681/whitmans-ipo-stock-deals-have.html

“She was appointed to the board of Goldman Sachs in October, 2001 and then resigned in December 2002, amidst controversy when congressional investigators revealed she had received shares in several public offerings managed by Goldman Sachs.”

and

“Whitman was a supporter of former Bain & Company CEO and Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign[21][22] in 2008 and was on his “National Finance Team”.[23] She was also listed as Finance co-chair of Romney’s exploratory committee”

quotes above from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meg_Whitman

Republicans must learn that the financial services industry is not an essentially capitalist industry. It seeks to make money from (a)nothing, (b)someone else’s money, or (c)leverage (a different form of (b). But it produces nothing but “financial transactions”.

Could the IBMs, Dells, HPs, Microsoft’s, Caterpillars, GMs, Fords, 3M, etc., etc., exist and come into existence without a Goldman Sucks? Definitely yes! Don’t confuse the market place with everyone playing in it.
