Meg Whitman's campaign guru donated max to Obama -- while she advised McCain

Even as former eBay CEO Meg Whitman acted as a high-profile backer and adviser to 2008 GOP presidential candidate John McCain, her top aide Henry Gomez -- now an eMeg gubernatorial campaign majordomo -- donated the maximum to Democrat Barack Obama, federal records show.

Gomez, a trusted top insider in Republican Whitman's 2010 gubernatorial campaign, donated the maximum $2,300 allowed to the general election campaign of Obama in the days before -- and the weeks following -- the former eBay CEO's high profile televised address to the GOP National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he accompanied Whitman around the clock.

Gomez is a registered Democratic voter in New Jersey, according to records of the Bergen County Registrar's office.

And here's a twist: Gomez's donation to Obama came as Tucker Bounds, now chief spokesman for Whitman's gubernatorial drive, acted as the voice of McCain's presidential campaign.

...

With just five months until the June 8 primary campaign, Gomez's generous donations to the Democratic presidential candidate could ruffle feathers in the conservative GOP grassroots -- and raise questions about Whitman's conservative cred as she seeks to maintain her advantage in the polls. Especially since former South Bay Rep. Tom Campbell is expected to drop out of the gubernatorial contest Thursday to enter the U.S. Senate race, making it a two-way GOP slugfest between Whitman and State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner.

Records show Gomez, whose legal residence is in Saddle River, New Jersey, donated $1,000 to Obama's primary campaign in March 2008. He gave Obama an additional $1,800 on Aug. 31 -- four days before Whitman addressed the national GOP gathering at McCain's nomination --and another $500 by the end of September 2008. He listed his occupation as "self-employed," according to federal records.

Who are the Donks going to run. You only get the lesser of two evils. She may well be less evil than the Donk candidate.

Why are "trusted insiders" of Republicans registered Democrats? What else give Gomez give away like say, oh, campaign strategy? Are Republicans just stupid or are they closet Democrats?

PRECISELY.

Einstein once described insanity as doing the same things over and over while expecting a different result.

That sort of goes hand in hand with the ancient Greek truism that “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.”

America has apparently lost its mind and — unless we change our ways — our destruction is at hand.

It appears the entire McCain campaign people were in the tank for 0bozo. So far, I am yet to see even one McCain campiagn staffer who is not corrupt, or a conservatives hating lunatic, or was not a strong supporter of 0bama. These people actually WANTED to lose to 0bozo.
Way to go McCain.

lol .. I don’t know if he would get along well with the kids in the Senate and Assembly.

No sane person would want the job now and the few up to the task, don’t get the airtime or recognition by the parties.

This state is so riddled with holes, the ship won’t be sailing much longer, without a lot of bailing out.. if we don’t get at the root of and recognize the causes why we are headed downhill without brakes like socialists bent on mass suicide, it may be a moot point anyway, eventually Mother Nature will let a couple old volcanoes blow or lets the San Andreas rip.. Then, It’s Game Over bigtime and more than an opportune time to get it right the next time. ;-)

Newsom is toast.

Heck, Willie Brown should run , he ain’t that old, just prop him up in a 3,ooo dollar suit and play the crowds like a court jester.
