Obama Spokeswoman to Palin: Stop Making Fun of People
Sunday, February 21, 2010 | Kristinn

Chicago Sun-Times reporter Lynn Sweet buried this gem at the end of her article on a Sarah Palin speaking engagement in Washington, Illinois on April 17:

FOOTNOTE: In her Tea Party speech, Palin mocked Obama by asking "how's that hope-y, change-y stuff working out for ya?"

I asked White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett recently what she thought of Palin's dig.

Said Jarrett: "Making fun of the folks' real, sincere hopes for change that Americans across our country felt, I don't know that making fun of that is constructive. I prefer we would say, 'Come and think of constructive solutions that really improve our country.' I think people are tired of being made fun of."

Palin criticized Obama on many subjects in her Tea Party speech, but Sweet knew she'd get a rise from Jarrett about Obama's signature theme being mocked.

As for Jarrett's sudden-found concern for making fun of people, perhaps she should have a chat with Barack Obama about his press secretary Robert Gibbs:

But you didn't say pretty please, Valerie.

Maybe they should first start with treating all Americans with respect, instead of not caring what the country has to say about stimulus packages, health care, cap and trade, etc.

Criticism of Republicans and/or conservatives--go right ahead, hell, throw their families under the bus too!

Criticism of Democrats/liberals--racist unpatriotic counterproductive teabaggers!

Nah, no double standard here, folks.

Come and think of constructive solutions that really improve our country.

How about the resignation of every Democrat and RINO?

Move up about 3’ and go around to the backside; then you have got the location right for where she's got her lips and tongue.

Boy, ain’t THAT the truth. Gibbs is a smartass, pure and simple. His press conferences and remarks are supercilious, arrogant and condescending. Even the smile he paints on is a self-important smirk.

Tony Snow (rest in peace) set the high bar for all other WH Press Secretaries to follow: smart, witty, and humble. He honestly liked what he was doing and respected the people he was dealing with. gibbs couldn’t polish the bottom of Snow’s shoes.

"Come and think of constructive solutions that really improve our country

Since when, Ms. Jarret? Obamalamadingdong and the Dims in Congress have slammed the door in the face of the Republicans at every available opportunity, if they even let the 'Pubbies know where meetings were being held in the first place! These people make Slick Willy look like a Saint in terms of telling the truth.....

Seems to be lots of PKB going on- just one more thing the WH has in common with a certain subset of freepers.

It was just so darn great, when her carefully planted question to 0bama about Henry Louis Gates, backfired big time on 0bama.
