Apparently, they are saying not just that the stimulus “saved” jobs, but also that the stimulus “created” jobs. Where are they? Certainly not in my neck of the woods. Possibly in Washington, DC.

Communist countries behind the iron curtain were famous for big lies like this, but nobody believed it.
Just this article saved 10,000,000 jobs.

All of the major economic research firms that have studied the stimulus effect have come to this conclusion. Just like "all the major climate scientists" agree that globull warming is real.

Let’s pretend, just for shits and giggles, that this 2.5 million number is true.
Uh, my calculator broke. How much is that PER JOB?

Note from the article;”money to forestall layoffs of teachers, firefighters, and police officers, “,aka, people paid by the government.
Also,”Stimulus opponents, often motivated by strictly ideological or political concerns, have repeatedly claimed that the bill didnt create a single job that the economy wouldnt have created anyway. This isnt true, and it should be beyond the bounds of political debate to claim it.”
The stimulus actually created jobs that the economy would not have. The jobs that the economy would have created would be in the private, not the public sector. The jobs that the stimulus created mr Boston Globe Buffoon are exactly the jobs the economy needs least. Jobs with unsustainable pensions and benefits, the sort of jobs that are time bombs waiting to destroy cities and states. So mr. editor the real issue is not whether there were jobs created but rather the sort of jobs created. Perhaps if you understood the argument to begin with more people would pay to read your rag.

Lets say it created everyone of the 2.5 million jobs they say it did.
8 trillion dollars divided by 2.5 million jobs is:
$320,000 PER JOB.
What a GREAT government program!!!!!!

Divide $819,000,000,000 by 2,500,000 jobs. Do the math.
That works out to $327,600 per job. Government sure is efficient, isn’t it?

Yes, it’s “beyond the bounds of political debate” (just like man-made global warming) and we’re citing “numerous respected economic think-tanks” for this conclusion (but don’t ask us for the details or our own proof of jobs created).
