Unable to tout the administration’s successes, and worried about Republican ascendancy, liberals have assigned responsibility for the mess they’re in neither to their program nor to their methods but to larger, structural faults in American politics and society. After all, opines Jacob Weisberg in Newsweek, the “biggest culprit” behind “our political paralysis” is the “childishness, ignorance, and growing incoherence of the public at large.” You simply do not know what’s good for you. “On many issues these days,” writes the Washington Post’s Steven Pearlstein, “the American people are badly confused.” “The people may have spoken,” writes the New -Yorker’s James Surowiecki. “It’s just not clear that they’re making any sense.” In a blog post titled “Too Dumb to Thrive,” Time magazine’s Joe Klein cuts to the chase: “It is very difficult to thrive in an increasingly competitive world if you’re a nation of dodos.”

We’re not stupid, although a majority were completely stupid on November 4, 2009, when they elected the Marxist to our nation’s highest office.
Thank God we have Tea Parties and a brand new revival that has swept across the nation and brings us REAL HOPE for REAL CHANGE provided we work hard to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can *this November.*
In the interim, we need to help keep our Republicans in congress strong and to let them know that “NO” to the democrats and Obama is precisely the response we want.

The "party of Jefferson", as the Democrats love to annoint themselves, claiming the populace is too ignorant to be part of the political process.
Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.
Educate and inform -- got it? This is not accomplished with closed-door horse-trading. It is not accomplished with behind-the-scenes negotiating and midnight votes. It is achieved through open meetings which do not have ulterior purpose.
Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.
And yet when people seek to make their voices heard, they are denigrated as radicals, domestic terrorists, and any other slanderous derogative. Why? Simple. They disagree. T.J. had one for that, too:
I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.
So where does the 'party of Jefferson' get its arrogance? Its belief that a people too stoopid to be part of the process deserves to have 'what's good for it' rammed down its unwilling throat?
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
The problem 0 has run into is that dominance has led to impatience, which has resulted in prematurely exposing the intent of the party -- to retain power.
The meeting regarding the budget has no foothold in responsibility. After years of creating dependence, what 0 and the democrat party is now looking for is a fall guy on the right to point to as being responsible for taking away the crumbs which have been labeled into the trough which feeds the many who have been 'organized' by 0 and his ilk.
Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.
Notice how our “elite” journalists cast dispersions against us ignorant Americans not one realize or admit that the media has contributed the most to any ignorance the American electorate has.
When the public is spoon-fed a steady diet of bias, propaganda, distortions and lies mixed with huge doses of Democrat talking points, is it any wonder the average American isn’t fully versed on what is really happening?
It also must be mentioned how infuriated many journalists are that their propaganda is is not believed b a growing number of Americans and many of their reports have been shown to be lies.
Remember they called it a *temper tantrum* in 1994.

of course the left loves “righteous anger” in their own definitions of what is supposed to be righteous
it’s just that they are so incapable of respecting anyone else’s views that conservative “anger” is always suspect (in MSM eyes)
