Nobody here wants to prevent Rock Hudson or his contemporary equivalents, whatever their preference, proclivity or vice (and that includes heterosexuals) from using their voices and votes to support conservative politics.

What we don't welcome is a "gay constituency" with an agenda we don't agree with.

Someone might object,"But they have no gay agenda." If they have no gay agenda, then they don't have to present themselves as a gay constituency.

Let them join, e.g., "Tea Party Tennessee for Lower Taxes." As such, they'll be sincerely welcome here.

I remember being amazed when I read the Shirley book at Reagan's claims to be a libertarian, mentioned several times, and his aid for the abortion and gay-rights causes.

I don't think he would have held these positions later, as the libertarians became more antiwar and the abortion and gay issues heated up and became more contentious.

Perhaps any help should have been just enough to defend themselves, clearly stating that any advance beyond the borders of Russia would be opposed by the other Allies, rather than giving such aid which enabled Soviet forces to be inside Poland and parts of Romania by August 1944 in their relentless drive West. At the very least the U.S. should have refused to allow Stalin to enter Germany or have countries as war booty, seeing as America had The Bomb, even though the reason for helping Russia should not only be to defeat Hitler, but to free the Russian people. It is tragic that people suffer due to corrupt leaders in government.

Of course, i do realize that the U.S. did not know for sure till late in the war that it would have the bomb, and it is easy to be an armchair general, but treating Stalin, who was arguably worse than Hitler, as an “uncle Joe” was tragic. I know in real life is it very hard sometimes, to not work, to some degree, with evil persons against a greater immediate threat, but one must ever be conscious that the same poison that kills rats may also kill your dog.

This looked like an organized hijack to me. CPAC has a special day rate for students, and DC is loaded with universities. They were probably not all members of GOProud and not conservatives but were there expressly for the purpose of heckling Ryan.

I read a couple of articles about what Cheney said. He said he agreed with Mike Mullen or whatever that guy’s name is, that the time had come, etc. He was very clear that he supported the recall of DADT.

I don't know if there is polling on this but I would say 90% of Conservatives oppose homosexuality. Hell there a quite a few libs who oppose it as well, just look at Prop 8 in California. Blacks and Hispanics came out in droves to vote against gay marriage even though they were voting for Obama.

I think CPAC has been compromised by libs and thus is irrelevant.

In addition to forcing the organization to disregard the rules set down in the United Methodist Book of Discipline, which states that gay unions cannot be performed in church buildings, the lesbian thugs also wanted cash “for economic loss, humiliation, and,[of course] mental pain.”

The justification for this outrage is the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, which has been interpreted to mean that homosexuals must be granted their increasingly arrogant demands, however unreasonable.

Almost as disturbing as the use of these feel-good discrimination laws to inflict depravity on a church is the contempt shown for private property. According to Garden State Equality, which imposes the interests of “the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community,” the church’s property is in fact public property “by virtue of having been used by the public for many years.”

The women could have held their ceremony anywhere—and eventually did hold it somewhere else—but they filed a complaint anyway because they loathed the ministry’s lack of moral approval.Seriously, this is on par with demanding that the NAACP hold a KKK rally at their HQ in Maryland.
