BIRNBAUM: Democrats Have Left a Power Vacuum: Someone will have to step in and lead if Obama can't
Washington Times ^ | Feb 17, 2010 | Jeffrey Birnbaum

Whether we realize it or not, Washington has come to a standstill and at a very dangerous time. Democrats, who have control on paper, have neither enough votes in Congress nor enough support among the American people to move a serious agenda. Yet the problems the country faces are large and growing.

In many ways, there's a vacuum at the top that no one knows how to fill.

The central dilemma is that the economy continues to wobble, and yet the government can't - or won't - do much to right it. Massive federal budget deficits - bloated by earlier reactions to financial crises - are preventing our leaders from coping with persistent unemployment and the weak economy that citizens are most worried about.

Voters, in the meantime, have lost faith in the central government's ability to do much about these things and trust neither party to devise a solution.

One has to look no further than Barack Obama to see where the problem lies. He feels he was crowned king not voted in as President. He does not want to lead. He cares not for anything but getting his way. He is like Ming the Merciless demanding tribute. The only difference being that Ming the Merciless actually knew what he was doing.

Obama is mentally ill.

He ran because Harry Reid convinced him that he could win. As Obama told Harry, "I have a gift."

Unfortunately, he does have a gift...and that gift is that he is a pathological liar of such previously unknown power that innocent (and stupid) people follow him without wondering why.

Obama isn't just a socialist, though that is his political tilt.

Obama is demonic!

At the most practical level and metaphysically...his rise to leadership is a presage to war.

Just my opinion...but get ready!

“One has to look no further than Barack Obama to see where the problem lies.”

Barack is a puppet.

Barack is a puppet.

Obama's incompetence is front and center...and that is proof indeed that there is no puppeteer.

No puppeteer would leave his puppet so alone as to completely reveal his idiocy. Obama's advisors' only counseled him to use teleprompters to hide his buffoonery. That's not evidence of the existence of a puppet master. That is evidence to the contrary.

BTW, even with teleprompters, his buffoonery is front and center. Such would not be the case if he were a puppet.

“Such would not be the case if he were a puppet”

The thought is related to who puts the life into the puppet with words? Who's words are they, but the Master of this Puppet, George Soros.

Barack Obama is symptomatic of a much deeper and more serious illness. His incompetence is a blessing - otherwise we could be speeding ever more quickly to Rahm Emanuel’s gulag. We have an illegitimate political system and an illegitimate government - if it is paralyzed, immobile, it will that much easier to deal with. The liberal fascists are now in their end game. They have bankrupted the nation, and the people are beginning to understand the depths of pain they and their children will be forced to endure. Unless, and if, we split the country and assign the debt to those who are responsible for it. Forming a new Free America will wipe out the debt and allow a legitimate Constitutional nation to be formed from the conservative areas of the former US.

Long before Soros, Obama had benefactors like Prince Alaweed (who presumably paid for his Harvard Law degree). BTW, it is Alaweed who is now a big shareholder of FoxNews (NewsCorp).

I certainly think Soros has influence but I don't think he could replace Alaweed.

Regarding the entire notion of puppets and puppeteers, it is just hard to imagine that Obama would be behaving as such a complete greenhorn if he had someone behind him with any real experience on the world stage. Also, when one looks at Obama's actions, one sees a lot of Rahm Emmanuel's influence and it is hard to imagine that a puppeteer would cede any power to that idiot.

I certainly don't doubt that Obama has been bought and paid for, but he still seems to be pretty much in charge of his own destiny if one believes the account of his telling Reid that he was thinking of returning to Chicago after his first term as Senator was over. IIRC, he told Reid he was bored with being a Senator and was thinking of running for governor...and Reid talked him into running for president because he despised Hillary.

Disingenuous, at best.

Thanks for the insight. It seems that Obama with his past so well hidden, there is a man behind the curtain.

Geez...are you ever fixated or just desperate to be right on sumpthin?

It ain't about you, dude!

Finding the truth about Obama is light-years above your need to be right about something.

Those children who feed their need to be right on various Obama possibilities are like vampires.

Their need (your need, Cameraeye) overwhelms the need for evidence.

Obama is a puppet...damn the truth and full-speed ahead.

Reason?

We don't need no stinkin' reason!

"Camera Eye said so...and that's reason enough!"

BTW, the words Obama uses are straight out of "Rules for Radicals" and the Koran..."lie, obfuscate...appeal with specious reasoning..."

Soros is not a muslim! And he has not invested that much money in Obama (but his investment in Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. has been paid back many times over).

Don't be stupid...if there is a puppeteer behind Obama...it isn't Soros.

To be right on this is not my intention. As a vet in the Navy during the Carter, Reagan and Clinton years, I am fully aware of the danger this man is causing. Let’s face it, the economic collapse and the war of Islam against the West not what I want my grandchildren to deal with when I’m gone. Being on the dark side maybe you should see some light. We need truth of this man, not excuses being made of him. What do you know about him? I thought so. This is not what my friends in Lebanon died for! Enjoy your freedom.

I went back a read some of my previous posts to you and I think I might have gotten a little over-excited in a few. Sorry!

I don't think we necessarily disagree on the danger posed by Obama. It is imperative that he be exposed and impeached.

That said...thanks for your service to the country!

The only difference being that Ming the Merciless actually knew what he was doing.

Also, Ming never apologised for being from Mongo.
