EPA drawing more flak on GHG emissions plan
Resistance is growing to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) attempt to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under the federal Clean Air Act, with several states and industry groups challenging the move.
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), Washington, was one of several groups and interested parties that filed petitions in advance of the Feb. 17 deadline to challenge the EPA’s “Endangerment Filing,” in which the federal agency wants to regulate greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act.
The AISI earlier this week said it was challenging the EPA’s Endangerment Finding on the grounds that its analysis of the evidence and its process for reaching its findings were “fundamentally inadequate” (AMM, Feb. 17).
Petitions also have been filed in the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia by Gerdau Ameristeel Corp., Tampa, Fla.; Peabody Energy Corp., St. Louis; such industry groups as the National Mining Association and...
Yeah, that's the ticket. Saying that the "science is settled" makes it settled. Let's dispense with minor items such as data, evidence, proof, consensus, and the scientific method.
Is Algore the head of the EPA?
That may work against VA, and even TX, but there gonna have a problem here,IMO.
Peabody Energy has all its ducks in a row and they’re comin’ out shootin’!
there s/b they’re.
"And we're NOT going to talk about it any more, you doodoo heads!" (much stamping of cranky little feet)
common sense measures? lolol
Let us hope that junk science organizations, EPA included, start to dsappear after coming elections.
There is no such thing as settled science by its very definition
BTW, that's a derogatory reference to an individual with an advanced degree who works in a government administrative position.
Sure seems to fit EPA though.
The morons don’t even see the laughable contradiction inherent in their statement.
The states need to stagger the lawsuits and make each one on different grounds or some judge will rule it class action. If these attorney generals can get them in different courts they can most certainly get some EPA heads on some perjury charges with contradictory statements.
We need to strip the EPA from the Federal govt, and throw its components into an active volcano.
Scientists should always be ready to give an account of why they are where they are. It’s like the EPA believes Climategate means absolutely nothing, but yet cannot detail why. The lawsuit by Peabody is going to force them to do this.
Yes, Virginia, opposition among the states to climate fraud is growing: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2454495/posts
I think what they are trying to say is that the science was settled long before it was unsettled.
I know of SCIENCE FICTION... that’s more SETTLED than this GloBULL warming....
