Princella Smith, 26, will announce on Saturday that she is running for Congress in Arkansas’s 1st District. Some would say she is too young. Others might point to other potential hurdles: She’s running in eastern Arkansas, a district that hasn’t elected a Republican since 1872 in a Southern state that has never elected a black person to a congressional or state-wide office.
“I think I’m the person to do this,” Smith said. “I’m going to tell people to come on board with me, listen to these ideas, and that we can get people excited again about the Republican Party.”

Maybe its time for Republicans to take the $100..they WERE going to donate to the Republican coffers and send $10 to her and to 9 other “conservative’ candidates around the country.
I remember her speach at the convention, It was pretty decent iirc but short.

The second of three sitting Democratic congressmen in Arkansas has announced his retirement effective at the end of this term. On January 15, 2nd District Congressman Vic Snyder announced that he would not seek reelection. And 1st District Congressman Marion Berry announced that he also will forego another election for the U.S. House in 2010.

Seems intelligent, hard working, sweet faced, reasonably cute, professional. Probably has as good as shot as any.
I know people there and I also remember her at the convention.
I see she’s a public speaker.

If she holds true conservative values, I sure hope the RNC and the Tea Partiers, will go all out to support her.
I agree that the Dems will go out of their way to smear her, to ruthlessly attack her family and friends, to destroy her.
They will tell any lies that they can think of to degrade and label her with as many vile accusations as they can.
We need to protect one of our own, and hit their dirt filthnright back with exposes on who and what they are, and how they get their blood money.
I do not care if she has a higher than average concentration of melanin molecules per cubic centimeter of epidermis. The only thing I give a flying f’ about is what she brings to the table. I hate the title “Black Republican ... Blah blah”. As if we are supposed to go “oooooh a black republican, how quaint”...it belittles her, and distracts from her message.
It isn’t such a funny name since she’s a republican, let’s not make fun of it.
They can't call her an "uncle Tom". What do liberal racists call a female version of Uncle Tom?
