Ole Miss Football Walk-on Dies

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A walk-on football player for the University of Mississippi collapsed and died Friday morning during a conditioning workout.
20 year old Bennie F. Abram who transferred to Ole Miss from Itawamba Community College died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

That is so sad. The young man was finally living his dream, and likely held out hopes that his play could lead to a future to help him and his family. Some of these heart defects just can’t be detected in normal testing.
Prayers for his family.

There was a rash of this type of death in Houston last year - several young kids in high school or middle school. Most turned out to have a heart defect they were unaware of. These are always sad stories.
