ADELAIDE, Australia — An anti-whaling activist from New Zealand is in custody on a Japanese vessel and will be taken to Japan to face charges after secretly boarding the ship as part of a protest, officials said Tuesday.
Peter Bethune, a member of the U.S.-based Sea Shepherd activist group, jumped aboard the Shonan Maru 2 from a Jet Ski on Monday with the stated goal of making a citizen's arrest of the ship's captain and presenting him with a $3 million bill for the destruction of a protest ship last month.
The Japanese government has decided to bring Bethune to Japan for questioning, Fisheries Agency official Osamu Ishikawa said. He will be charged with trespassing and assault and tried under Japanese law, Ishikawa said.

I hope the Japanese lock this left-wing commie jerk up in a deep dark hole for a long time. The Japanese are an island nation, and have been hunting and eating whales for centuries. It is a traditional food for them. My wife is Japanese, and she remembers eating whale meat in Japan when she was growing up - they used to be able to buy it in the grocery store like any other meat. She and many Japanese like whale meat a lot, and REALLY resent that the greenie weenies are telling them how to live their lives, and run their country. As a Conservative, I can’t blame them. As long as they are hunting non-engangered species, what they hunt in international waters is their business.
I hope they execute the bastard!

As opposed to hunting white tail deer in the USA?? Or elk?? Or moose?? Or eating any other kind of sea creatures from the ocean?? This is a Conservative web site, and we Conservatives are not opposed to hunting and fishing around here. Whales are no different from any other game animal. As I said in my previous post - since they are hunting whale species that are not endangered, and doing so in a reasonable manner, it is really no one’s business - as long as they are hunting as ethically as any other hunter anywhere in the world (including the USA) would hunt.
Why don’t you go play ‘PC Police’ somewhere else?!
