How has the growth of the immigrant population changed the political partisan leanings of the places where immigrants have settled? The answer to this question is of considerable interest to academic specialists, journalists, interest groups, and political parties engaged in the immigration policy debate. If the impact of mass immigration is politically neutral, there is no reason to be concerned that constituencies will change appreciably by the settlement and naturalization of new arrivals. In that case, immigration might have economic and cultural impacts that should be anticipated, but no one need be concerned about political shifts.
On the other hand, if immigration does change the politics of locales, districts, and even entire states, then what might those changes entail? Certainly one important implication will be a resultant public shift toward favoring governmental activism — a belief that government should do more, rather than less. Latino voters, for instance, are presently among the demographic groups that are most strongly behind an activist government. This is undoubtedly because they have, on balance, lower incomes, and concentrate in areas monopolized by Democratic Party politics into which they are easily socialized.
Observers have witnessed the concurrent surge in California’s immigrant population, fueled mostly by the relocation of less-educated Mexicans, along with its rising Democratic Party majority, especially in presidential elections.1 Recent studies of Latino party identification have shown that those of Mexican origin, and occupying the lower rungs of the socioeconomic ladder, are especially likely to identify with the Democratic Party (Alvarez and Garcia-Bedolla 2003, 40). Remarkably, Latinos in California appear to vote overwhelming Democratic even when Republican Latino candidates are on the ballot opposing Anglo Democrats (Michelson 2005).
It is not surprising, then, that the nation’s sustained flow of lower-skilled immigrants, largely from Latin America, has given rise to predictions of an emerging Democratic Party majority by a variety of studious onlookers (Judis and Texiera 2002; Campbell 2008; Arnoldy 2008; Lopez and Taylor 2009). After all, the propensity for immigrants, and especially Latinos, to be swing voters has been wildly exaggerated by wishful-thinking Republican politicians and business-seeking pollsters who refuse to acknowledge the durability of individual party identification (Green, Palmquist, and Schickler 2002). Nevertheless, the rise in Democratic Party prospects in California and elsewhere has more than a single source, and it is always questionable just how much this partisan realignment can be attributed to immigration.
Among the findings:
* The electoral impact of immigration has been greatest in counties with large populations, where most immigrants settle. In these locations, Republicans have lost 0.58 percentage points in presidential elections for every one percentage-point increase in the size of the local immigrant population. On average the immigrant share has increased 9.5 percent in these counties.
* In counties of at least 50,000, where the immigrant share increased by at least two percentage points from 1980 to 2008, 62 percent saw a decline in the Republican percentage. In counties with at least a four percentage-point increase, 74 percent saw a decline in the GOP vote. In counties with at least a six percentage-point gain in the immigrant share, 83 percent saw a decline in the GOP vote share.
* Republicans have remained competitive in presidential elections because losses in high-immigration counties have been offset by steady gains in low-immigration counties.
* Even in Texas and Florida, often thought to be an exception, the rising immigrant population across counties is associated with sharply diminished support for Republican candidates.
* In Texas, for example, the estimate shows that for every 1 percentage-point increase in the immigrant population in a county, the Republican vote share dropped by 0.67 percentage points, which is more than the decline nationally association with immigration.
* The decline does not seem to be associated with the local Republican Party’s position on illegal immigration.
Balderdash. Third Worlders are salivating over getting their hands on US foreign aid billions---the only way that happens is to further the fiction that they are a political special interest inside the US that will defeat candidates who do not kneel in obeisance to illegals.

They are urging “an integrated migrant policy with full respect for human rights in the framework of human mobility in order to avoid situations in which the undocumented immigrant might be arrested for a minor infraction and be deported, thus destroying his life’s future plans.
"Migratory agreements” have been established by Mexico and Peru. Ecuador estimates that 1/5 of its population is in migratory status, mostly in the US, Spain and Italy. NOTE "Poor" illegals send billions back home---and "somebody" is getting a cut of it.

These people never paid a dime into the SS system; yet they collect seven years straight, and get extended payments w/ political connections. Checks can amount to $1000 a month, and more. At a summit held last May, the Guatemalan AG for Human Rights said that 10% of Guatemala's population has relocated to the U S. About 60% currently in the US do not possess legal immigration documents.
A 2005 study by the Intl Organization for Migration, says the Guatemalan population in the US numbers 1,364,000. The study found that the vast majority of Guatemalan immigrants in the US sent home $3.6 billion last year, alone.

Guatemala’s President to promote U.S. migratory reform to Obama
Guatemala’s President, Alvaro Colom, said this morning that he will seek to have his counterparts in Central America to lobby jointly for a meeting or at least a phone call with the U.S. President to speak to him about the migratory reform. The opportunity for Colom to lobby with the regional heads of state will be the “Rio Group” meeting to be held in Cancun, Mexico, next week. (This is the Summit Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Nations, an organization that excludes Canada and the United States.)
During his “Presidential Dispatch” radio program, originating this time from Washington, Colom said, “We are going to ask our companions and friends, presidents of Central America, to seek a meeting with President Obama or a phone communication, so that he may see that we are united.” Guatemala promotes an 11 point initiative so the United States may be aware of it and may take it into account when the time for migratory reform debate comes around, for which reason he has sought the backing of Central American countries.
Benjamin Monterroso, SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and migrant communities leader in the United States, stated in the same radio program that it is necessary to promote lobbying in the United States Senate because he deemed that the chances of starting the immigration reform debate cannot be after March 21st; otherwise, the issue will be delayed three or four years.

QUOTING FORMER CONG TOM TANCREDO (R-Colo) Juan Hernandez headed up the Mexican govt agency, "Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States. Hernandez is a dual citizen of the United States and Mexico, and a good friend of then-presidents Bush and Mexico's Vicente Fox."
Hernandez was presidential candidate John McCain's Hispanic outreach man.
Hernandez explained to Cong Tancredo the purpose of the Mexican government agency: Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States:
(1) to increase the flow of Mexican nationals to the United States.....
(2) to compel Mexican nationals in the US to serve Mexico’s needs;
(3) to increase US remittances to Mexico of $50 billion a year (30% of the Mexican GDP);
(4) to get US jobs for an exploding Mexican population, alleviating Mexico's social instability due to rising unemployment;
(5) to get free US training for Mexicans, who are expected to return and repatriate those skills back to Mexico.
Hernandez supports amnesty: "By populating the United States with millions of Hispanics tied economically, politically and linguistically to Mexico, we are able to exert enormous influence and pressure on US policy and its dealings with Mexico."

3. In 1997, Ted Kennedy’s extension of the Section 245(i) rolling amnesty was followed by an increasing flow of illegal immigration.

Another disastrous Kennedy legacy:
Teddy and his brother Bobby were instrumental in drawing up and passing the 1965 immigration "reform" law----that changed the ethnic distribution of immigrants who were coming in from predominantly European origin....... to encourage predominantly Latin American, and other Third World immigration, and Asians (including Moslems).
The primary purpose of their bill (never admitted publicly), was new Dem voters.......including illegals with stolen ID's that followed.

In the early 1980s I was visiting my sister in midtown NYC. She was on to this ages ago! We went into a a Korean greengrocer and she bought something. Gave the 17 year old Korean cashier (maybe a daughter I suppose) a five dollar bill and the daughter proceeded to fish the change out of a cigar box under the counter
My sister demanded that the purchase be rung up on the cash register so it would be visible to the state and federal tax authorities. She did this often

Mexicans had to be warned not to offer bribes to police officers and other authorities in the US-—where it is a crime. Not a crime in Mexico. It’s been reported that in Mexico you pay for everything-—even to get to the head of the line.
What is even more nauseating is the sense of entitlement they bring with them-—as if they are entitled to handouts and freebies that we Americans put in place for OUR needy citizens.

Di no a la mordida”LA MORDIDA”, translation “the bite” is the term used for a bribe in this country. It is the traditional and customary way of getting things done.
The bureaucrat who does your bidding takes a bite out of the cost of completing your objective. Mexican reformers are trying to change this condition with little success. It is so institutionalized that it could take decades before the situation changes appreciably. Bribing a cop, a judge or a permit agent is not the exclusive domain of Mexico. News stories about bribery scandals in the United States are not uncommon but in Mexico it is a way of life instead of an aberration in the system.
Payoffs in the U.S. are usually in the form of political favors, exchanged for campaign contributions. In Mexico it is endemic to almost all agencies of government: Treasury, immigration, customs, commerce commissions, police, judges, planning departments and even lawyers who will “throw” your case to your opponent in a law suit. It is a customary way of doing business in Mexico and most Mexicanos treat it with a shrug of the shoulders. They complain about it but accept it stoically as a way of life.

Thew current mood is an outlyer just as 1994 was. We lost many good congressman and senators in 1996 and 1998. Look up regression to mean.
It is ultimately more of a values than a race issue. And it becomes increasingly important for conservative candidates to "show-up" in these communities regardless of how they got that way to argue those Judeo-Christian values strengths. The alternative is to what?... Simply throw in the towel?
It is really galling to remember how George W. Bush and the leadership of the Republican Party in Washington tried as hard as they could to force an amnesty bill into law. They wanted to legalize millions of poor Mexican peasants who would almost certainly have voted for Democrats. Those peasants will all retain Mexican citizenship and allegience to Mexico.
Bush, et al were joined at the hip with the Democrats on that issue. Don’t forget either that Bush refused to close our borders. Something stinks in our government and it didn’t start with that Marxist in the White House.
Now we see McCain, Graham and other Republican sell outs proclaiming their conservatism. They make me want puke.
The Demographic future of this country and this planet is a pile of shit. You may see it yet where you live, but you will, sooner or later.
