Sarah Palin: “Global Warming” – More Like a Snow Job
Sarah Paplin Facebook ^ | Friday February 19, 2010 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 02/18/2010 10:44:01 PM PST by Bigtigermike

Over the last few months, and even again today, very unsettling revelations have come to light about the “settled science” of man-made global warming. With all of these shoes dropping you’d think every member of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) would be barefoot by now.

One thing after another keeps popping up to further discredit the theory of man-made global warming. The IPCC’s supposedly definitive report proving the theory riddled with serious errors. The organization has been publicly chastised by everyone from its former chair to the heads of the UK’s biggest funder of climate research and Greenpeace UK. One of the world’s top climate change scientists, Prof. Phil Jones, has conceded that there’s been no significant warming since 1995; that the medieval period may have been warmer than today; and that he’s had trouble even keeping track of raw data crucial to the global warming theory. Yet President Obama still seeks to create a federal office for global warming, and they’re still talking about mandating their cap-and-tax plan that's based on discredited data.

The Obama administration’s environmental extremism also shows up in its aversion to oil and gas development. A true all-of-the-above approach to energy would mean allowing oil and gas explorers to drill here and drill now because America has the proven reserves needed to meet our energy challenges. A new industry study reveals that the federal government's current restrictions on oil and gas drilling in Alaska and off the U.S. coastline will cost us $2.36 trillion through 2029. Think of the millions of U.S. jobs we could create, and how much more secure America would be, if we had a true free market approach to energy independence that allowed us to finally drill!

And though I applaud the President’s newly declared interest in nuclear power, it should be noted that he’s merely following through on loan guarantees authorized during the prior administration. What’s more, while the White House now touts the building of new nuclear power plants, its budget inexplicably calls for cutting funding to the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. A real nuclear energy plan requires a strategy for dealing with nuclear waste storage and recycling.

The man-made global warming hysteria isn’t based on sound science, and the Obama administration’s energy policy isn’t based on sound economics. If the climategate revelations teach us anything, it’s that we need to cool down the rhetoric and fire up our common sense.

And to think of the the time and effort the anti-Palin trolls have spent trying to convince everyone that, because she endorsed her former running mate McCain, she must also support all of his positions. What say you, anti-Palin trolls?

I’ve been waiting for a Facebook from Sarah on this. She has been hitting on this theme in recent speeches calling global warming “snake oil science”. None of the media has picked up on it. They’ve avoided it because there’s been almost no discussion of AGW in the American media and they don’t want to deal the socialist agenda another blow.

Now that Sarah has Facebooked it, it’s in the national conversation.

Great job, Sarah. Keep ‘em coming. I was in the local grocery yesterday and strolled past the magazine rack. I noticed a picture of Sarah on the cover of a magazine. I checked it out and discovered it was a magazine that was ONLY about Sarah and great picture after great picture. It was about $9 which is pretty spendy for a magazine, but I was lucky to find it as it was the only one left on the stand. All of the magazines around it had plenty of copies left, but not Sarah’s. :-)

Awesome post. Once again, the most powerful communicator in the Republican party scores a direct hit on the administration and its misguided policies.

It frosts my hide, when I read George Will or Paul at Power Line or AllahPundit running Sarah Palin down over leaving the Governor's office to face down the Obama administration now, when we need her.

They would have had her sit out these two years that are crucial to stopping the destruction of America as we know it so her resume would look pretty. Where would we be right now if she hadn't? Well ObamaCare would already be on the books, and probably Cap and Trade even though it would have come out to be based on a Hoax.

We have been blessed that she determined that we needed her more in this fight, rather than holding off the Alaska Bloggers and the fake ethics charge crowd, while Obama destroyed the lower 48.

Maybe she forgot to ask how McCain stood on the Yucca Mountain issue...

“...What’s more, while the White House now touts the building of new nuclear power plants, its budget inexplicably calls for cutting funding to the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. A real nuclear energy plan requires a strategy for dealing with nuclear waste storage and recycling.”

http://www.nytimes.com/gwire/2009/03/31/31greenwire-mccain-to-push-yucca-closure-ratepayer-refunds-10365.html

“...Arizona Republican John McCain said today that he will promote amendments to a Senate energy bill that would abandon the Yucca Mountain, Nev., nuclear waste dump and refund about $16 billion in waste fees to electricity ratepayers.”

Who’s snow job is this again? Methinks Palin is endorsing a liar and a con artist who WAS a war hero?

For me, the outspoken willingness to stand up against the global warming power grab hoax is as much a make-or-break item in a conservative Republican candidate as support for the 2nd Amendment and being pro-life.

Palin and Fred Thompson are the only two Republicans in the arena of being Presidential contenders, who have done so from the start. Other Republicans all over the nation, such as Romney and Newt and I think Pawlenty (though I may be remembering incorrectly) either buy into the hoax because they're too ignorant in basic geology and natural science to battle the hoax with confidence born of knowledge, or because they fear that not enough Americans don't regard it with contempt because they intrinsically know in their hearts that it's a hoax. But many, if not most Americans DO, and it won't be long before most Americans WILL.

I predict that once gutsy Republicans like Palin (I know there have been a few others, too, but WAY too few) have braved the risk of going against what most politicians mistakenly perceive as "conventional knowledge" and cleared the path, making it more acceptable for politicians to face up and stand down the environmental extremists, weasels like Romney, who most certainly believed in man-caused global warming during the 2008 primaries (Thompson was the only candidate who was outspoken in his contempt for the whole hoax), will safely follow suit. Such politicians as Newt and Romney will say they were being pragmatic in their assessment that most of America believed the hoax and that they had to "respect" that sentiment. The older I get, the more I realize that pragmatism is often conservative principle's most dangerous enemy.

I say screw ANY Republican candidate who doesn't fully and openly reject the global warming powergrab hoax. It should be part of the platform, part of the thing that makes voting Republican a TRUE, GENIUNE, CONTRAST ALTERNATIVE to voting Democrat.

STAND O FOR YOU Finny! and you're in the best company!!!!

"Very seriously, ladies and gentlemen, this global warming hoax, this climate change stuff borders on criminal corruption, criminal political corruption. You think of all of the billions that have been spent ostensibly to protect things and people from global warming, and it's all been a scam, nothing more than a huge transfer of wealth. It is a giant scam. It is political corruption, what has happened. It's funny to listen to these people make fools of themselves and I love doing it, and it's not very hard. Just play their own words. I just got a note from a good friend: "Way to go, Rush, very smooth. You made 'em look foolish." I replied: "Easy. They are." But they're also dangerous. This is political criminal corruption, what is happening here, and just as they have ensnared the media to provide all kinds of propaganda for all the other political corruption that comes from liberalism, the Democrat Party, et al, they're doing it in global warming as well. Think of the money that need not have been spent on any of this. It's getting crazier and crazier."

Heck, this planet has been a hell of a lot colder and a hell of a lot hotter in the past few hundred thousands years (which is a nanosecond in the context of several hundred million years). Five hundred years ago, when Juan Cabrillo explored the California coast, there was snow all the way down to the waterline on the Big Sur, south of Monterey. If -- no, make that WHEN -- it gets that cold again, it's going to dramatically change food production in the U.S. because the way things are right now climate wise, California grows enough food year-round to feed a whole lotta folks because the climate is right for it. Obviously it hasn't always been that way (see Cabrillo) and obviously, it won't always be that way.

GOD calls the shots on the climate on our old earth. We're just along for the ride.
