Obama is Ruining His Presidency and His Party(it's his party and he can cry if he wants to)
Real Clear Politics ^ | February 17, 2010 | Dick Morris

Posted on 02/17/2010 6:22:27 AM PST by bilhosty

One of my favorite quotes about politics comes from Henry Kissinger in his book Years of Upheaval, his memoir of the Ford presidency: “A statesman’s duty is to bridge the gap between his vision and his nation’s experience. If his vision gets too far out ahead of his nation’s experience, he will lose his mandate. But if he hews too close to the conventional, he will lose control over events.” Now, at once, we see both happening to President Barack Obama.

This is pretty good stuff. Morris’ output ranges from baloney to sirloin. Of course he’s relying on Kissinger to make the point, and Kissinger had a head for politics. :)

“In the phase of presidential dithering in the aftermath of the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts, there is no clear presidential message, no coherent strategy — not even an identifiable program.”

Sure there is! What, “END CHILDHOOD OBESITY” ain’t a program?

No if he wins it is the Dem's expense. These two wil likely go down as the best RepublcianPresident because of what they have done for us. Even though they are Dem's. Reagan could not of done us better.

Agreed. Morris is correct about half the time. This one is on the money.

Ineptitude: the theory that you can change reality through the power of words and megalomania...

Why are there spots, spread evenly throughout the world which are on fire constantly? The universal impulse of humanity to rule by force and brutality is everywhere. As is the other side of the coin : let's play nice, sacrifice our own, to "persuade" savages to act civilized.

Neither seems to resolve universal misery and violence.

If there is no solution, the best any society can hope for is to control its own.

Things just don't look hopeful at the moment.

Hope and Change has a new meaning we can embrace.

We Hope Obama loses if he runs for a second term and we Hope a right-thinking Conservative presidency makes Changes as quickly as possible from the retched Obama presidency - so we can get a early glimpse and vision of America returning to the "Shining City on the Hill."

IMHO, Bill Clinton and Warren Harding both beat out Jimmah for the 'worst' title, but just barely.

Yeah, some people told me he "got a bad rap" by historians, who are mostly liberal writers. I'll have to research it a little more, like you advised.

My father, God rest his soul, claimed Harding was the worst, but then he also said FDR was the best!? Dad must have been a 'closet Commie', I guess, in all do respect. :>)
