Without so much as a press release, Embryonic Stem Cell research is being slowly defunded by the State of California. Remember Proposition 71, the California initiative that pledged $3 billion dollars of public funds to this dubious research? Back in 2004 voters in that state bet that embryonic stem cells held the key to untold cures and therapies.
Six years later, after destroying innumerable embryos and devaluing human life, they have nothing to show for their investment. Only adult stem cell research has shown any promise. By reprogramming adult stem cells, researchers have produced astounding results; curing everything from type 1 diabetes to spinal cord injuries.

Destruction of human life coverage is obviously not a top priority for the leftist and pro-death mainstream media.
Arnold is a cretin. $3 billion to pacify the baby-killers and subsidize the death doctors. How’d that work out for ya?
The state needs to end all these green job and bio job supports. The state was driven to bankruptcy by this type of spending.
They need to end their capntax drive, their sustainable energy mandates etc. The State is just not able to make good marketplace solutions and shouldn’t waste money on them. Especially now.

I’m not enamored of Arnold either but this was the people of California that did this.
But the embyonic stem cell may yet help reduce climate change, solve the the mystery of backgound comic radiation and the evolution of the two thumbed glove.

Even though I voted for the fool, this single act cinched it for me. When this act was announced, my wife and I looked at each other and wondered, “Where did he ever get the idea that the people who elected him wanted this?” Unfortunately, there weren’t any viable options at the time. As is too often the case, you have to hold your nose and vote for the candidate that will do the least amount of damage. In that case it was Arnold. :-(
While not using fetal stem cells, I would suspect that there is a future in using, or banking, “infantile” stem cells, taken from the umbilical cord after birth, for example, and continuing on from there.
Here’s the broad concept. There are many times in people’s lives when they have some invasive medical procedure or other. But typically when such things happen, the medical waste, including large numbers of their stem cells, are discarded as waste. So why not save it, or at least save the stem cells?
Different stem cells can often be adapted to grow into other cells, that might be the very best way to repair a person’s tissues years down the road. For example, saving a child’s baby teeth stem cells might provide a means for them to fight off cancer many years later.
Or when a child breaks a bone, which does happen, before the bone is set, why not bank some of their exposed bone marrow? Sure, if done regularly, it could delay the setting of the bone by some minutes, but it is not a quick procedure in any event, so would hardly even be inconvenient.
Any time a person gets general anesthetic, even to have their wisdom teeth removed, for example, take the opportunity to harvest some stem cells, hither and yon. Some from the stomach, the liver, etc.
Most of such banked stem cells will never be needed, but there is a good chance that some of them will be needed.
Not true. Had the people actually voted their preference, McClintock would have one. Conservatives fell suckers for "he can win," again. Even one-on-one, McClintock would have beaten Bustamante.
Arnold changed direction and supported it. He campaigned for it.
That IS the whole point of EMBRYONIC stem cell research -
to devalue the embryo, the pre-born human, to assuage the consciences of those that have killed their babies in the womb.
Giving the embryos any sort of value as humans would be shining the light of truth and tweaking the consciences of the “had-aborts”.
I wonder what the MSM would do if they knew the truth?

Sorry, but I disagree. Tom McClintock is a fine man and a true conservative but he had zero momentum going in to the election. My assessment of the situation led me to believe that Cruz Bustamante would have been elected and THAT would have been even more troubling.
