(Newser) – Claiming “an impeccable source,” blogger Rich Vail reports tonight that Democrat Barbara Mikulski will follow Evan Bayh’s lead and not seek re-election to her Maryland Senate seat this fall.
Vail, a Tea Party supporter behind blog The Vail Spot, says the 73-year-old Mikulski has been slow to recover from an ankle injury suffered last year, and has told her doctor she plans to retire.

I hope she doesn’t trip on a splinter going out and fall into a crack. That would be tragic.

Like Bayh, I think a lot of it is knowing that Capitol Hill won’t be their playground anymore come November. Even for those who can win re-election easily.
Better to bow out now, after the usual whining about “partisanship” and “incivility”.

Actually the ones leaving are actually Republicans at least by action and the National Democratic Party is FINALLY ridding itself of disguised Right Wingers..

Kinda makes ya think, why would someone who lives like royalty on our dime want to give up the lifestyle of the rich and famous? And they are giving up a lot of power when their party is in the majority.
