Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) has hospitalized Monday night after falling at home.
According to reports, the 86-year-old senator was taken to the hospital after taking a spill at his New Jersey home.
"The Senator was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure," spokesman Caley Grey told WABC News in New York.
Grey told the Bergen Record that it was not clear whether the senator suffered any injuries.
Only Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), who is 92, is an older member of the Senate.
The New Jersey senator first served in the Senate from 1983 to 1995. He ran again for the Senate successfully in 2002.

I will admit to perplexity about aged senators going all the way back to Jesse Helms and Strum Thurmond. Frankly, I think it is ridiculous to assume that anyone could do a good job as a senator, justice of president after age 80.
Seventies? Sure. With modern medical care, many men and women can keep working during that decade, but once they reach 80, it’s time for them to leave office.
I think a constitutional amendment to that affect is needed.
Oh, that’s gotta make the Democrats nervous, especially since NJ now has a Republican Governor.
For these guys. maybethey come to the realization that their lives are too short to be spent attempting to do Obamafail’s business.

Does Levin live in NJ? I thought he was in Philly. Run, Mark, run. Heck, even Tony Soprano would be an improvement over the current pair of donkey-turkeys.

I pray that he slips quickly into the hands of our Lord. His brand of left-wing cancer should now come to an end.

The hands of the Lord is the last thing he’ll be slipping into suffice to say.
Don’t forget - this guy’s an illegal senator. He retired in ‘95 I guess and in ‘02 the dem candidate for senate had a big scandal and was clearly going to lose.
Problem was - it was already too close to the election to register another candidate. The New Jersey law clearly said it was illegal to register a new candidate. But laws only apply to Republicans.
They asked Lautenberg to run and had the New Jersey (far left) supreme court rubber stamp it - just like the Florida supreme court tried to illegally throw the 2000 election to Gore.
The man was not legally elected a senator anymore than Franken who was elected by ACORN election fraud.
Would the Gov appoint a successor, or is there an election, as in Mass?
Senator Lautenberg is doing well. He was only kept in the hospital overnight for observation. He’ll be going home today.
