Podesta: American political system 'sucks'

Washington (CNN) - John Podesta, president of the Center for American Progress, can describe the state of Washington politics with a single word. And it's not a nice one.

Asked in an interview with the Financial Times to comment on "the health of American political system," Podesta responded: "Sucks."

Podesta made the remark with a chuckle, but the man who chaired President Obama's transition team expressed deep concern about the White House's ability to pass big ticket items in the current political climate.

Since our “political system” was established by the Constitution, I guess I know what Mr. Podesta is really unhappy with.

Sounds to me like the political system is just fine and the current occupants of the White House suck...

Podesta will soon recognize that Obama has only one chance left...

He needs to locate the Roswell crash files, blow the lid off the cover-up, and make contact with the aliens.

He must become Earth's envoy to the Universe ASAP!

Hurry, Barky...hurry. While there's still time!;-)

"I think the president . . . is not dealing with the party of Lincoln, he is dealing with the party of Palin and the party of McConnell and the party of Boehner . . .

(Obama) focused too much on the inside game of Congress during the health care debate, instead of communicating their broader goals to the electorate, particularly to independent voters.

Hussein was all over state run media all the time and they were all over him. I love circular democrat firing squads.

...expressed deep concern about the White House's ability to pass big ticket items in the current political climate... He blamed much of the gridlock on Republicans and a newly "strengthened" conservative movement.

First, in this economic climate, what makes him think "big ticket items" are a good idea? In fact, in light of the deficit, so-called "big ticket" items probably ought to be out of consideration entirely. Unless of course, by "big ticket" they mean big, grandiose desires of the socialists.

Second, the gridlock claim is a lie. One party (and hint, it isn't the GOP) is in the WH, has a majority in the House, and a majority in the Senate. If there is any blame for failures to move legislation it can deservedly be placed on the incompetent shoulders of the Democrats. Then again, given their big-government, socialist, anti-American agenda, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Third, think for a minute about what he said. A newly strengthened conservative movement. Now, why do you think there has been a surge in support for conservatism? I believe it is due to their own actions. Americans, you, me, and if not everyone at least a majority of Americans, look at the obama agenda in action and recoil. This is not America. This is not life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is big, no, massive government, socialism, and fascist-like control of our very lives. The Democratic socialists have no-one to blame for the conservative resurgence but themselves and their un-American ideals and agenda.

"I think the president is trying to re-engage with Republicans, but quite frankly he is not dealing with the party of Lincoln, he is dealing with the party of Palin and the party of McConnell and the party of Boehner,"

We've had more than a year of seeing obama break promise after promise. We've had more than a year (and more than enough of) seeing obama say one thing that sounds good, then do something quite different that is not good at all. No-one but the lapdog lamestream media and the deluded obama kool-aide drinkers really believe obama is trying to re-engage with Republicans. I do believe he is trying to force his socialist ideals upon us. He is trying to put pressure on the Republicans to force through as much of his agenda as he can.

"They have a political strategy, really, which is that fierce opposition, trying to say no to everything will endure to their political benefit, and so far it looks like that is working for them, so I don't see them changing all that much."

Here again, think about what is being said. I think he is probably right. The Republican's strategy is to fiercely oppose obama's socialist agenda. He is also confirming that it is working to the benefit of the Republicans. Now, why do you think that is? If the Republicans are gaining political benefit from this strategy it must be because the people support it. The people support it. You know, those people that our elected officials are supposed to be representing. However, the elitist socialists (ie. Democrats) still seem to believe they know best for the rest of us. Their frustration as they are proven wrong is very rewarding.

Funny how when the GOP held the WH, they thought the President had too much power. Now they want their boy to have even more. Nice double standard they have going there.

This dumb sonuvabitch should have attended a few town hall meetings this past summer to find out why the “big ticket items” can’t get passed. The system doesn’t suck...the freedom-taking leftist agenda does.

It’s just amazing how 50% of the American people can support people that say things like this. Are promises of free stuff so important to them that they’re willing to sell their freedom for it?
* * *

It is baffling that there are so many of THEM, but this is what the schools and MSM have produced.

As to the second part, yes, they are willing to give up some freedoms, and that moral weakness also predisposes them to joining a personality cult and embracing the ideology.
