Conservative opinion columnist Kathleen Parker, who does not take a pro-life position opposing legal abortions, is coming under fire. In a weekend column, Parker suggested pro-life former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin was exploiting her developmentally disabled son Trig.
Palin is a darling of the pro-life movement and was lauded for putting her pro-life views into practice when pregnant with Trig.
While ore than 90-95 percent of pregnancies involving physically disabled unborn children like him who are diagnosed with Down syndrome are eventually killed in abortions, Palin chose life for her baby.
Since then, she has become even more outspoken against abortion and has dedicated herself to supporting families and children who are disabled.
Parker points to Palin's comments in response to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who is pro-abortion, calling developmentally disabled children retarded. Palin involved Trig's name and Parker now claims that Palin has a problem separating herself from her child.
"Palin's defense of people with special needs is commendable. Her obvious love for -- and pride in -- her Down syndrome child, Trig, is touching. But each time she sallies forth as Mama Bear to America's special-needs citizenry, invoking Trig's name amid demands for her children's privacy, a bit of uneasiness slithers between text and subtext," Parker writes.

The media doesn’t want to go after Rahm Emmanuel so they are putting the focus on Palin.

Parker now claims that Palin has a problem separating herself from her child. Of course Sarah Palin cannot seperate herself from her precious Trig!
He's part of her emotionally, mentally and geneologically as well as physically.
Sheesh, Ms. Parker sure needs to get herself a brood of her own.

Exactly! Nothing about murdering a child is "conservative." Every time Sarah is with her child (or mentions him), pro-aborts everywhere will feel uncomfortable and attack her. He obviously has Down syndrome, and pro-aborts feel that they "took care" of that issue for women with abortion, and Sarah is just slapping them upside their heads and cold hearts by keeping him and loving him. Pro-aborts everywhere need to work toward showing Satan the door (and the sooner, the better!), by reversing their deadly stance on life.
Pray for our Nation (and Kathleen Parker, too).

It's a ploy...editors know she's a lib, but run her column so they can claim "fair and balanced" coverage by having the "conservative" point of view.
I think using Trig as a vehicle to slam Palin for political expediency is typical for this lowest of low rent for this lib.

Abortion is the bottom line for all these leftists. If they can only have one leftist thing, it has to be killing babies. Bill clinton triangulated on everything else, but he was steadfast in his support for abortion—because he understood his base. No compromise on that.
That’s why none of the token “conservatives” who write for the NY Times or the Washington ComPost have been pro-life. Because that’s a point their bosses won’t give an inch on.
Babies must be killed at all costs.
