JUST BREAKING....RED STATE DEMOCRAT RETIRES.
It’s not making me feel a whole lot better right at the moment.
You’re right..well depending on the source. Rasmussen had him leading by 22 pts but politico had him trailing. But whoever heard of a dim giving it up because they were ‘trailing’?
NEW RULE PROPOSED: As soon as retirement is announced they leave within 1 week of announcement, immediate would be better......should be ‘escorted’ out by the opposing party as well.
I’m not sure obama is even looking at ‘free’ elections in the future.
All of the posters here claiming that Bayh is getting out because he is too “conservative” for Obama should read his remarks.
He is blaming Republicans for being too partisan! Waaaah!!
He whines about senators killing the Obama “bipartisan” debt commission - which everyone knows was a gimmick designed to give Obama cover to renege on his promise not to raise taxes on the middle class. Now Zero is going to simply appoint his own commission and like the emperor with no clothes pretend that it will give him cover anyway.
Bayh has ALREADY voted in favor of government nationalization of health care!
There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat - Bayh has proved this to us.
I think what we may in fact see is Bayh now willing to be one of 50 votes to shove Obamacare down the throat of the country through reconciliation.
Also, we may see him vote to push amnesty for illegals through this year.
He doesn’t have to face the consequences of reelection.
He is a young guy - after six years or so, all of the illegals and the greatly enlarged dependent class of leeches created by Obamacare and by the further subsidization of the underclass will give the democrats a demographic permanent majority with blacks, hispanics, elite white socialists and underclass leeches.
Bayh will stroll back into power on a red carpet.
“Man, dude doesnt want to fight, it seems.”
As a Hoosier, I can tell you that you are balls on correct. Thanks to his dad, Evan was born on 3rd base but thought he’d hit a triple. He has no stomach for a fight. His announcement about bipartisanship really means “I know the GOP is coming after me now.”
Just got off the phone with our county clerk. She will check into the law tomorrow AM. SHe also said that as of Friday Baron Hill had not turned in any of his paper work to run for the house position. That two weeks ago he told an official in our courthouse to her face that he had not decided whether or not he was going to run. He’d had it with Washington.
As Pope John Paul II often said, “Be not afraid.”
Here are some choices of bad things that could happen:
1. Total financial melt-down
2. Massive terrorist attack.
3. China calls in all the paper and occupies US.
4. Iran bombs Israel and starts WWIII.
These things will either happen or they won’t All we can do is live our lives the best way we can, and be prepared to withstand whatever bad things happen.
“Im not sure obama is even looking at free elections in the future.”
My thoughts EXACTLY.
Why should he “allow” free elections (they’ll be rigged via ACORN no matter what)
No, the dems can slate a candidate for November at their Party Congress in August. This is not an unopposed seat.
Might even say Obamageddon.
See 406
Yeah...except that bill was killed by Harry Reid.
And Bayh didn’t tell Reid he was quitting until after it broke on the news.
Bayh is a moderate democrat, which means he is not as nutty lefty crazy as Boxer.
That, my FRiend, would be a blowtorch, not a spark to disaster!
Were you looking for cheery sunshine from a guy with a "we are so doomed" tagline? LOL
He shafted them!!!!
DU’s heads are exploding.
“I do NOT love Congress.”
Join the club Evan.
Could this new “centrist” leader team up with someone like Judd Gregg and persuede them to cut the budget? I see:
Baye, Dorgan, Burris, Kaufman, with nothing to lose.
Perhaps they can persuede Webb,Tester,Carper, Baucus Conrad and Nelson to do the right thing.
Perhaps Gregg(who has grown a pair lately) could persuede McCain, Snowe, Collins, Grahmn, Lieberman, Lemeiux, Voinovich, Bunning, and Brownback their way.
Group with nothing to lose, who could do the right thing.
