Sorry .. but God’s “anger” was poured out upon Jesus - because Jesus was the substitute for man’s stupidity and man’s sins. If the penalty has already been paid, then God can’t be angry.
God has already forgiven man - through Jesus (”... once for all ...”). If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior - then God only sees you through Jesus.
“It’s God’s desire that none should perish.”
1. Anyone have a video of the speech?

“will see to it, one way or another, that his term NEVER ends”
...and that we will also end, also quite prematurely.
P!ss on any sonavabitch liberal who tries to destroy the Constitution.
Much truth in this...but adding that God uses people to make the difference....History attests to this fact. So we can lay it at his feet and then put feet to our prayers and do what we can to change the path we’re heading...
Roe.vs Wade would have never happened had Americans not wanted it....there were not enough who spoke out against it. We’ve all seen when we do come together we can change the momentum of anything we oppose often by getting on the right side.
So may God continue to honor and bless the work we have done and the work we have yet to do...Though He may be angry with some I do think He is well pleased with all the efforts we have taken to stop the evil that is moving across our nation...Elections do matter and do make a difference.
Well I’d have to differ somewhat as when Jesus cleared the temple of the money changes I don’t think he asked them to excuse him as he cracked that whip....He was angry and we are called to stand against evil in our world...and to make righteous judgements as we do so.
Further evil did not cease in our world after Christ rose from the dead...it continues on and pushes forward. We are called to press against it in His name and for His Glory.
I cannot believe you would not think God angry when a baby is assulted and beaten...or when our soldiers were dragged across the dirt, bodies burned, and hung from a bridge while the onlookers laughed and celebrated...
Furthermore if Christians do dastardly things do you not think He gets angry? Heck, we even get angry at our kids when they step out of line...we forgive but we also expect a change in that behavior. And we are pleased when they do so.
If you see God as this mushy gooshy God who never is angry or disgusted with man then you do not live in the real world I have known. You might want to take a read of Revelations....where the wrath of God is quite vivid.
Admiral/Senator Denton’s passionate words are reminiscent of the prophet-like Alexander Solzhenitzhen’s speech at Harvard.
More similarity: both Solzhenitzhen and Denton endured brutality like few of us have ever seen. Solzhenitzhen was Russian, however, I nominate Admiral Denton as America’s Solzhenitzhen. His words are very prophet-like.
Well .. the money changes issue took place BEFORE JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED.
I never said “evil ceased”. I said THE WAY GOD SEES PEOPLE IS THROUGH JESUS. That’s an entirely different subject and I don’t know how you got anything evil out of.
Sadly .. you have missed the whole point.
And we got stuck with McCain??????
Hell no- The Yankees had all the guns and ammo.
“...Ten righteous people?...”
Ok...what is your point then?
some of these bigmouths never fail to remind me of the little guy from Alabama in Shane...
Talkin’ bout responses here, that is!
The gardner can only support the plants, not create the miracle they contain - their blooming is still an expression of Grace. God's intervention often requires effort to receive. An engineer can create a bridge, but can't create the truths of the math or physics behind it. Forgetting this has led to a very arrogant and scorning world, instead of one of gratitude and wonder.
KEEPING A SPARK FROM BECOMING A BLAZE
After watching the State of the Union Address several weeks ago, I am convinced more than ever that our president and most of the congress are divisive, and continue to drive a wedge between the government and the governed. The elected and appointed politicos do not seem to understand what the people want, need, or more importantly are willing to accept. We are constantly being urinated on and told that it is raining.
There is an ever growing and very serious disconnect between the government and the governed. There is a resentment today that goes both ways unlike I have ever seen.
Being an amateur historian, I research and read all the time. Recently I have been reading the biographies of many of the founding fathers. The underlying complaint of every one of them was the total disconnect between the American subjects and their governing monarchy at that time. I am seeing the same paradigm setting up in our republic between the elected government and us, the American citizens. This is not a question of political persuasions or parties because both have greatly disappointed the electorate time after time. Disconnect and frustration is what caused the American Revolution.
Once the disconnect is serious enough, that is when the real trouble will begin. Even though during the 1700s the government and the populace was separated ideologically by political beliefs and physically by an ocean, today we are separated from government by an ideology and thought and belief process that is much wider than any ocean or physical barrier.
Some years ago I told my children that I thought there would be another American revolution in their childrens lifetime unless things changed. Just last year I revised my prediction to say it would probably occur during my childrens lifetime. I now feel that it could happen in my lifetime if things do not change very soon, and I am 61 years old.
I am not an anarchist, nor a revolutionary, and I am not a proponent of violence, but I fear unless things change soon some spark will ignite a second revolutionary process. That spark could be the disregard by the government of a Bill of Rights issue, adoption of extremely unpopular programs or laws, or simply continuing business as usual. Keeping that process political rather than physical will be a very difficult task once the populace have been pushed too far and have lost all faith in our present system, and the spark is fanned into a full blaze.
This is not the government that I learned about in high school civics class. Pray that our elected officials see the need to reconnect with us before it is too late and we lose our beloved country forever.
Aye-Aye Skipper!!
