Sarah Palin? She's no joke

The snows that obliterated Washington last week interfered with many scheduled meetings, but they did not prevent the delivery of one important political message: Take Sarah Palin seriously.

Her lengthy Saturday night keynote address to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville and her debut on the Sunday morning talk show circuit with Fox News' Chris Wallace showed off a public figure at the top of her game -- a politician who knows who she is and how to sell herself.

Those who want to stop her will need more ammunition than deriding her habit of writing on her hand. The lady is good.

Enough said. Those picking at Gov. Palin can only nit-pick, but then that's what the Progressives do!

Yeah, it's hard to call a meeting if you've been obliterated.

If even those who approve of Sarah Palin insist on labels (Populist) then I insist on the label Communist for Barack Hussein Obama.

Maybe we need a POTUS who can actually govern when there's snow on the ground - or govern at all, for that matter.

Nice of the Herald to give some tips on how to destroy Palin. Still mystifying isn’t it? How can honesty, integrity and patriotism possibly be popular?!

I’ve been calling him a communist since the summer of ‘08. My liberal acquaintances always whine, “Why do you have use labels?”

My answer is always, “Why do you call a cat a cat? Because that’s what they are! I don’t make them a cat by calling them a cat.”

I heard that most of the proof reading, not unlike the "customer service" at print medias and other companies had been transferred overseas

The "proof readers" in India must have missed this one.

One of the panelists (don’t recall who) on GIgot’s show last night nailed it. She said that it’s irrelevant whether or not Palin runs for President. What she represents is more important than what she does. She brings to light the chasm between elitist snobs and the regular folk. When the elites attack Palin, they are attacking you and me. That is her power.

The left’s only response to serious political challenges is to spew names and hatred, and this they’ve been doing to Sarah Palin since day one. They’ve never NOT taken her seriously, they’re just starting to admit it.

Bob, you should be concerned for your own mental well-being that Broder is more analytical and rational on the subject of Sarah Palin than you are.

But in the present mood of the country, Palin is by all odds a threat to the more uptight Republican aspirants like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty -- and potentially, to Obama as well.

Yeah, that describes you to a 'T', Bob - uptight. Or, in more blunt terms, anally retentive.

Well, not everybody. 'Rats and other leftwing vermin, certainly; GOP rivals and their supporters, who see their hopes going down the drain; a few casual observers who just drink the media kool aid; jealous women; threatened males; homosexuals, abortionists and other Christian-haters. That's about it.

"The Herald" didn't write this. David Broder did. And it was previously published in the WaPo under a different title.
