Dear Democrats, The Poverty You've Spread is Heartbreaking.

Dear Democrats,

The poverty you've spread is heartbreaking. On Thursday, at the freeway exit, one of my customers who is learning disable, yet still able to work, is standing there holding a sign begging for money. Yes, she's overweight, usually shy, but I find it hard to believe you've made things worse than when you cried about how bad the economy was when Bush was President. You lied. You lie. You continue to lie.

You lie. And you deny economic policies that would create more jobs. John McCain's economic plan was quite an improvement over yours, yet the media omitted getting details to get you elected. For what? I hope the media is getting uncomfortable too. Let's visit some more folks I know.

This next guy is a drunk trying to get sober, say's he maybe gets through a week sober. He's also disable, has a short leg. Yet I constantly see him making meetings and trying to live a sober life. No job. He has little hope because he's sure employers won't hire him because of a Drunk and Disorderly charge. He's really a nice gentleman, and it's clear he just needs a lucky break and he'd sober up instead of always coming to that hopeless moment.

Then there's this lady who has a night prep cook job. Says she makes more money babysitting for her sisters. She gets 2 hours on Thursday nights because they are constantly sending her home because of little business. She's finally tired of it and desperately seeking another job at the place I've seen so many good new employees I don't think their going to be hiring, with so many unemployed, they got their pick.

Then there's this constant steam of felons getting released from prison, hopefully rehabilitated. Most of the few I have meet are black men, whom I understand already have a higher unemployment rate. How do you expect any employer to take a chance on hiring one of these guys competing against all the other unemployed? And I may add, all of them seem decent and humble, willing to do whatever it takes to find work, Yes, they have been actively seeking jobs as I have meet them. One of the successful landed a job at Subway Sandwiches. I have been proud of him when I see him there.

But the others, where's their private sector opportunities you've promised?

Senator Klobuchar said 90% of them 3.5 million Stimulus bill jobs would be in the private sector. Where did she get that dumb idea? Other Democrats? Democrat economist? Did she make up the numbers herself? The press won't confront you Democrats on your dumb ideas being made policy, then not working. The recession is over? For who? The business's and unions Democrats like? The rest of us can go to hades? That's what I get. That's what many Americans have got. And I probably haven't seen the most desperate.

There are more folks I run into every week and I have helped many because I can't stand seeing them so bad off. And for the few I have passed without helping like my learning disable customer, I feel so ashamed and guilt ridden I have to bare it all out as is first thing Saturday morning.

No thanks Democrats, you really know how to screw up a lot of people's lives.

I've had this heartbreaking feeling all week. My apology if this is not the best polished work I can do, but I still have a job to go to today.

Statement from Walz’s congressional office

http://www.bluestemprairie.com/a_bluestem_prairie/2009/01/walz-votes-for-stimulus-bill.html

This legislation will create and save 3 to 4 million jobs, rebuilding America, making us more globally competitive and energy independent, and transforming our economy for long-term growth; give 95% of American workers an immediate tax cut; and invest quickly in the economy – with 75% spent in the first 18 months.

What’s exciting is that southern Minnesotans can benefit greatly from this strategy. Experts say more than 90 percent of the jobs created will be in the private sector.” added Walz.

McCain Tax Plan excerpt(clue for Democrats, even the guy reading Alan Greenspans book has better ideas than you on creating jobs)

Pro-Growth Tax Agenda

John McCain believes taxes should be low, simple, and fair and has a track record of commitment to these principles.

Pro-Growth Tax Policy

* Keep Tax Rates Low: Entrepreneurs are at the heart of American innovation, growth and prosperity. Entrepreneurs create the ultimate job security — a new, better opportunity if your current job goes away. Entrepreneurs should not be taxed into submission. John McCain will fight the Democrats’ crippling plans for a tax increase in 2011. Left to their devices, Democrats will impose a massive $100 billion tax hike, almost $700 per taxpayer every year.

* Make It Harder To Raise Taxes: John McCain believes it should require a 3/5 majority vote in Congress to raise taxes.

* Cut The Corporate Tax Rate From 35 To 25 Percent. A lower corporate tax rate is essential to U.S. competitiveness. America was once a low-tax business environment, but as our trade partners lowered their rates, America failed to keep pace, leaving us with the second-highest rate among the world’s advanced economies.

* Reward Saving, Investment and Risk-Taking: Low taxes on dividends and capital gains promote saving, channel investment dollars to innovative, high-value uses and not wasteful financial planning. John McCain will keep the current rates on dividends and capital gains and fight anti-growth efforts by Democrats.

* Allow First-Year Deduction, Or “Expensing”, Of Equipment And Technology Investments. Expensing of equipment and technology will provide an immediate boost to capital expenditures and reward investments in cutting-edge technologies.

Pro-Innovation Tax Cuts

* Ban Internet Taxes: John McCain believes we must make a farsighted, robust, and fervent commitment to innovation and new technologies to sustain our global competitiveness, meet our national security challenges, achieve less costly and more effective health care, reduce dangerous dependence on foreign sources of oil, and raise the quality of education in the United States. John McCain has been a leader in keeping the Internet free of taxes. As President, he will seek a permanent ban on taxes that threaten this engine of economic growth and prosperity.

* Ban New Cell Phone Taxes: John McCain understands that the same people that would tax e-mail will tax every text message — and even 911 calls. John McCain will prohibit new cellular telephone taxes.

* Establish Permanent Tax Credit Equal To 10 Percent Of Wages Spent On R&D. This reform will simplify the tax code, reward activity in the United States, and make us more competitive with other countries. A permanent credit will provide an incentive to innovate and remove uncertainty. At a time when our companies need to be more competitive, we need to provide a permanent incentive to innovate, and remove the uncertainty now hanging over businesses as they make R&D investment decisions.

REFORMING WASHINGTON TO REGAIN THE TRUST OF TAXPAYERS
Wasteful spending in Washington has gone from irresponsible to indefensible. Right now, even the government reports that one-fifth of programs are receiving failing marks. John McCain will restore the trust that Americans have lost in their government spending their hard earned money wisely. (John McCain’s detailed government reform plan may be found here.)

Eliminating Wasteful Spending

* Stop Earmarks, Pork-Barrel Spending, And Waste: John McCain will veto every pork-laden spending bill and make their authors famous. As President, he will seek the line-item veto to reduce waste and eliminate earmarks that have led to corruption. Earmarks restrict America’s ability to address genuine national priorities and interfere with fair, competitive markets.

* Leadership, Courage And Choices: Reduced spending means making choices. John McCain will provide the courageous leadership necessary to control spending, including:
o Eliminate broken government programs. The federal government itself admits that 1 in 5 programs do not perform.
o Reform our civil service system to promote accountability and good performance in our federal workforce.
o Eliminate earmarks, wasteful subsidies, and pork-barrel spending.
o Reform procurement programs and cut wasteful spending in defense and non-defense programs.

Budgetary Reform To Give Tax Cuts A Fair Chance

* Congress Has Unfairly Stacked The Deck To Spend More And Raise Taxes.
o If a spending program is on the books, budgets assume that it is on the books forever — and continues to grow — even if the law says it expires.
o If low taxes are on the books, budgets don’t assume that they last forever. When they expire, those taxes are automatically raised.
o John McCain will reform budgeting to treat equally spending and taxes and to stop damaging tax hikes.

The economy was broken during Bush's tenure, too, but 'everyone who mattered' ignored the problem as long as they could squeeze another dollar out of it. The Democrats have made it worse, but the whole Establishment made it bad in the first place.

You beat me to it. I agree.

And, FWIW, there will ALWAYS be the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots.’ It’s up to each INDIVIDUAL to choose which tribe they want to belong to. Granted, Government does a LOT to stand in the way of opportunity...

But, if you can’t make it in America, you can’t make it anywhere.

I mean, look...we have a basically unemployable ‘Comminty Organizer’ as President! Is this a Land of Opportunity, or what? *SMIRK*

Thank you for posting this letter. It is a stark reminder that the foolishness and dishonesty of leftists has real world consequences on the lives of real people.

I cannot tell how mad I am at all of the liberals I’ve met over the years. They sit with a stupid look on their faces convincing themselves that they know everything and coming up with stupid ideas. Then they go out and vote for other idiots who think those stupid ideas can get them elected.

All of them are rotten dope-brains who wallow in mental crap like pigs. And they’ve put one of their own absolute worst in the White House, who wrote in his self-stroking BS book, “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.”

It is heartbreaking. You have all these people who know in their heart that honest work—even the humblest sort— brings with it dignity. In their way is a political ideology that is completely tone-deaf to the concept.

Most posters here seem genuinely surprised to learn that politicians lie. How can that be?

You are soooo right. The economy’s been broken for a quite a while, but our “leaders” in both parties have continued to be content to prop it up as long as they can squeeze some more money out of it for themselves. The policies of tax, spend, outsource, consume, and borrow have finally reached their inevitable conclusion; and the “little people” are sitting on an anvil, with a hammer hanging over our heads.

It's all about them and there re-elections. They don't care about anything else. They want these big programs that are blotted, costly and don't work well. On the outside they always look sparkley and pretty, like they really did something. All they would have to do, is QUIT SPENDING, get rid of the ridicules programs that are useless and there are many. CUT TAXES and get the heck out of the way of the American people. But, they won't, cause they want to toot there own horns. Look what I did, look what we did, it's all about them.

This is how I look at congress. They are nothing more then pick pockets. Taking our money, handing it to someone else and saying, look what I did, I'm such a humanitarian, I'm so compassionate. The problem is, they enable more people than they help. *stepping off of soap box*

Yep, and their theft has cost all Americans the job opportunities that would be there otherwise. Republicans should get brave and have town meetings with these poor and unemployed folks explaining why they can’t find private sector jobs. Show the Democrats spending follies. Show how siphoning money from the private sector is costing them jobs. Get right to the heart of poor neighborhoods, the folks who the Democrats are trying to con for votes.

i’d like to see a book that researches

the democrat party’s drag on the american economy:

from fdr to the present, taxes, over-regulation,

public ed and universities dumbed-down,

lbj’s destruction of the black family,

hollywood and tv—pre-marital sex and the loss of careers,

drugs, alcohol,

ad infinitum.

Obama is creating the dependent America that he wants. My friend has a 4 plex. Three units are rented and he lives in the other. One tenant just lost his job. When my friend asked the tenant about looking for work he said he was not interested. He will get unemployment for 18 months, HUD will subsidize his rent, he will get food stamps and food from the food bank. This is a young family with young children. This is the beginning of the welfare mentality.

Son, it was one of the best things I have read on FR in many weeks. Direct, and to the point. Absolutely pertinent.
No need to apologize for a word of it.
This Administration came in, enabled by an infatuated Media, with the goal of “Remaking America”. Nobody knew at that point, (except us) that they would have to destroy EVERYTHING in order to create ANYTHING.And nobody knew, (except them) that the scope of the Big Plans they held in private were founded on a profound disconnect and unconcern with the real, day-to-day lives of real human beings.
This Mock-Utopia they tell us we need, and that only they know how to create, brick by bloody brick, is and has never been anything other than an unworkable Left Wing Demagogue’s fantasy of Total Control masquerading as a wonderful “Green Future”.
We have been watching the daily evidence of this disconnect with an increasing sense of outrage and disbelief.
I honestly don’t think even THEY, the architects of all this destruction, could have known the practical effects of their policies, even ONE YEAR IN. THAT fact speaks to both their astonishing incompetence AND the necessary charade we’re subjected to every day, as things slide into oblivion, and we’re told our situation would be SO MUCH worse if they’re weren’t around to “save jobs”, and otherwise crisis-manage the apparently permanent avalanche created by “eight years of failed Bush policies”.
Things WILL get worse, because they don’t know how to make them better.
Their days are numbered.
THere is no working with them, no matter how hard they try
to craftily reposition themselves.
Obama and his crew have squandered the goodwill generated by a large quota of White Guilt they exploited, and their
Last Hurrah will be coming a lot sooner than even we expected.
