I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement.
I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11.
I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way.
No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.
The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty.
It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.
The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout.
It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government.
Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway.
I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.
:-)
I’ll gurantee an answer is not forth-coming.
And if you do, please ping me to it.
That seems to happen quite a bit on the Medina threads lately...LOL
Thanks, onyx! I’ve pinged some others to that specific post.
I try to stay away from the threads I’m not versed in; but that statement was begging to be repeated. Have fun :^)
Credit goes to hocndoc, but you’re welcome.
I just don’t understand how anyone can still try to twist it to support this kook.
What part of "note to SELF" don't you understand?
I think it's just the Paulbots supporting her now. They're trying to hijack the Tea Party movement. I've heard several reports about the Paul Cult showing up at Tea Party gatherings and spreading truther stuff. I really don't think the movement embraces things like trutherism, isloationism and the whole anti-war thing the Paulestinians are into (kind of like Code Pink.)
Time for bed, Allegra.
This is a discussion forum, not a Blackberry.
Ah, that must be it, the Paulbots. Thanks, Allegra!!!
I hear they love to show up at Tea Parties in larger cities.
Thankfully, I’ve not seen any.
I know they’re also anti-war. UGH.
Further proof that ‘they walk among us’ Thanks for the ping. Do you think we should start a thread on this as ansel12 suggested (searched but found nothing)?
oops....forget my earlier post/reply #76. Reviewing thread and found this. Had to hit the hay last night/this morning. Have a wonderful day!
Reagan never proved it by falling into such a simple trap. If you are comparing Medina to Reagan, up your medication.
Just got on FR and saw this further comment by Medina.
This woman is not only a Loon, but many out there like her have been poisoned with the Ron Paul, Alex Jones, Chuck Baldwin, Libertarian - Left wing propaganda.
Those on FR who are still supporting her will be reminded
with that link. To say no Police Officers died in the Towers 9/11 is the most blatant, despicable hate comment.
Just like her Ron Paul who said we deserved 9/11 because we are occupiers.
These people need to be flushed out.
.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Medina has her roots in the libertarian side of the Republican party. She has campaigned in the past for U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Clute, and she has his supporters working in her campaign.

Debra Medina is a disciple of Ron Paul, having worked on his 2008 Campaign, and follows the same libertarian leaning political stances of her mentor. And it is the libertarian/Ron Paul organization that is at work helping Medina and not the conservative grassroots workers in the Republican Party. And the tactics used in 2008 are now in play in 2010.

This is simply a campaign thats not on the same level as Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison, or Bill White
or Kinky Friedman for that matter
and is being led by a radical 9/11 truther who is digging herself a deeper hole each and every day. Its just a blessing it has come out now instead of later. Soon she will be back to her irrelevancy that she was at before this campaign got started.
Many in the Medina Movement are disciples of this libertarian lunacy faction who came up through the Ron Paul Presidential campaign. Remember 2008, every time there was a debate they would flood the on-line polls to justify their existence even though there was no legitimate chance of Paul winning. At events around the country, they would bully event organizers into submission and use guerilla tactics to try and get attention. When many of them were asked why they liked Ron Paul they couldnt give an answer other than they agree with him that 9/11 was in inside job.
When you consider that Ms. Medina has significant ties to the 9/11 truther movement, has a more libertarian than conservative viewpoint, and has a legion of followers who use guerilla tactics; one has to wonder if this not a movement but a coup détat by a fringe group? Its the medias job to investigate, the question is will they?
