HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Police said a female member of the UA-Huntsville staff shot and killed three co-workers on campus.

Huntsville Police, Madison County Sheriff's department and HEMSI responded to a shooting at the UAH campus at 4:00 Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the Shelby Center, a math and science classroom building.

Authorities said a female faculty member during a Biology faculty meeting learned she would not receive tenure. She then pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Dear FTC,

Why should these companies be allowed to turn our computers into a
Reality TV show for their pleasure? What is the legality of an
individual or the Government doing this?

The government is not allowed to intrude on us without a court order.
These companies (often foreign or foreign owned) should not have more
rights to us than our own Government. The Constitution protects us from
the Government, what protects us from these voyeurs?

High priced lobbyists are not a replacement for democracy. Our privacy
needs armor plated protection.

“By the people ... for the people ...”
not
“Buy the people ... for the Corporations ...”

You call it what you want...I call tenure a fraud, that could only exist in government or government schools, that allow people to keep their jobs for life if desired, regardless of their performance....I dunno...it sure seems like another lottery style entitlement/benefit for government employees to me. you're wrong. Tenure is in every private university

Yeah, someone already mentioned that, but the fact is, I am not subsidizing private schools with my tax money. Ya see what I mean?

Question:

Is it not wrong for all the bloated government schools to grant tenure to it's government employees?

Mr. Johnson knows her and other researchers listed on her Harvard papers from when he a VP at Childrens. He said two things: OMG, how horrible. Then he said that it is dangerous to piss the thugs (some researchers) off; science is truly headed for ruins.

The Left has cleansed western ethics and ideals from almost every field of study and rage and corruption has taken it’s place. These are the folks who put the hate and intolerance of diversity doctrines and culture of death into power. Not all professors and scientists are like this. But the meanest wins.

The comments for her on RateMyProfessor don’t sound like she came across as a thug to students. Cutthroat researchers don’t tend to waste time helping undergraduates, as several students noted that she did. And I don’t think a single comment complained about her refusing to help when asked.

When I noticed there weren’t any comments for her for the most recently ended semester, I wondered if she could have been on maternity leave, or on leave with some serious illness.

I can see why they denied her tenure. *nods*

Lady, you get two choices:

1. No tenure.

2. Life in prison / death penalty.

You’ve got 10 seconds to decide.

There are photos here:

http://www.al.com/mobilenews/news/huntsville.ssf

There is a photo of the police leading away a woman, wearing a green sweater, with longish dirty-blonde curled hair. Definitely NOT this woman in the pink sweater with blackish straight hair.

Have two women been arrested?

The news said Amy Bishop was the shooter and both her and her husband were both arrested. Nothing I heard was mentioned about a second woman arrested.

It would explain things a bit if her husband dressed as / lived as a woman...

I would think that all the facts should come out in the next few days...

Based on what you said on her high student ratings are you suggesting she has been falsely accused of thugishly killing her peers at a meeting? She has not been convicted.

I don’t quite get what you are saying.

The worst behavior usually comes out with professors hurting and bullying one another and University administrators as you saw with the harassment and ruin of politically incorrect peers and editors in climategate. They often use their students as political pawns to gain power in Universities with protests for more powerful feminist/diversity departments as we saw at Duke in the Lax case.

That is the second time I was fooled into following that link to see a woman with blonde hair and a green sweater and I didn't see it.

What am I missing?

The text mentioned the police helping to evacuate a student in tears! I saw no other perp but the wacked out Ha-vad broad.

She did not get tenure? Somehow, I don’t think that is the reason this happened. She is deranged... THAT is the reason.

No. It's Obama's fault: Thanks to him she was facing unemployment. That's very embarrassing for a Harvard grad, you know.

That was it I didn’t stick around to notice thate was a slide show and if somebody mistook that for a female they need to get out more. Those gargantuan heels probably made all 10,000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire.

Scroll down and at about the middle of the page there is a slideshow down the page - The 6th and the 8th photos in the slide show are of the woman with the longish dirty-blonde curled hair wearing the green sweater.

Personally I would try harder and wait for next year when I would ace it!

At most Universities when you don't make tenure, you are automatically terminated.

why didn't she turn the gun on herself? isn't that the right thing to do in these situations?

How many more incidents like this are we to endure? Time to change the laws. Anyone not armed should be arrested.

Somehow I think she knew ahead of time. Guns on campi are generally against the law. But people intending to kill someone generally aren't too worried about breaking such laws, which have fairly minor penalties, at least compared to those for murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Technical fields can be obsolete in 20 or 25 years. Academic training at the beginning of a career no longer suffices till retirement.

But, at least in technical fields, its the research faculty and the grad students, who are creating that change.

Good Lord, do you think professors never take another class, or do any work on their own, once they are tenured? Might be true in some fields, but technical people, scientists, engineers, and mathmaticians are doing what they do *because they like it*. Most of 'em do pretty well at keeping up.

Most of your "internet based training programs" are staffed by... faculty. Some are staffed bya mix of faculty and practitioners in the field.
