Vigilance: I’m Banning Birfers, Truthers, and Groups Affiliated Therewith (Limpwrist RINO ALERT)
Redstate ^ | 2/12/10 | Ericka Erickson

Posted on 02/12/2010 1:22:29 PM PST by pissant

We’ve always banned truthers at RedState. Increasingly, we have also banned a number of individuals who think Barack Obama is disqualified from being President because despite the Republican Governor of Hawaii confirming the legitimacy of the Democratic President’s birth origin as a citizen of the United States.

Today I want to reaffirm and make it more definitive. If you think 9/11 was an inside job or you really want to debate whether or not Barack Obama is an American citizen eligible to be President, RedState is not a place for you.

Birfers and Truthers are not welcome here. Period. End of Story.

But I want to expand on this too.

The tea party movement is in danger of getting a bad reputation for allowing birfers and truthers to share the stage. At the National Tea Party, Joseph Farah treated the birfer issue as legitimate. In Texas, tea party activists have rallied to Debra Medina who, just yesterday, refused to definitely dismiss the 9/11 truther conspiracy as crackpot nonsense. If a candidate cannot do that, we cannot help that candidate. It’s that simple.

Sorry then. No...not silenced on this board.

That's good. All dissenting voices need to be heard.

For starters, the profiteers in Nasheville do not represent the Tea Party movement any more than ANYONE else involved in it. The namby pamby GOP a**holes that think they can come in and tell folks who can and can’t be involved in the tea party movement can go screw themselves.

If we accept the premise that expecting the laws to be followed is “extreme”, then this nation is already dead. See http://www.butterdezillion.wordpress.com

Exactly who is “the tea party”? Who is this that is determining who can come?

pissant, you have a point. I think the tea party is struggling to define the movement...redefine...as it develops. I would like to think they have every good intention...but they can only speak for themselves. At that moment. No party is made up of an entire group who agree on everything. I appreciate the fact they are struggling with the definition. But at times, I shudder also. If they are too rigid, they will lose their foundation I fear.

That is a good question. And it seems to change with each gathering...but as I just posted..I think they are struggling for definition as they grow. And have good intentions.

And, will it change with each city? And each gathering? For awhile at least?

A tru-birfer must be doubly banned.

How about double secret probation for them?

Not strictly true. Libs love it because it gives them a pretext for further Bush-bashing. But there is a demographic of hard-core conservatives and libertarians who view the last few presidents as figures in a grand conspiracy to establish a new world order. In their view, both the Bushes, Clinton, and Obama, are all carrying out “the plan,” whatever that is. So, in that context, for these people, no degree of grandiose conspiracy is impossible, even though they hold to a solidly conservative political framework.

Disclaimer: I am not a 9/11 “truther.” There simply is no need. Occam’s Razor and all that. But I am a Pearl Harbor truther. My dad was in the code room. Seriously. We did know.

Nowadays you can be banned for asking questions and wanting hidden truth to be made public. Put me down as a banee.

My grandparents always thought that was true as we wouldn't join the war otherwise.

I am not a 9-11 “Truther”. I believe Al Qaeda when they said they were behind the attacks. But I also believe that the 9-11 Commission was a joke so I can’t just assume that the official line we’ve been given is sacred. I don’t agree with the conclusion the “Truthers” reach, but I can agree with them that the government and media story is very often a load of crap because they think we’re fools.

I read the Duelfer Report - read the letter of transmittal that Charles Duelfer wrote, saying it would be a terrible misrepresentation if the media took the report and summarized it in a headline saying, “No WMD’s in Iraq”. And then I watched the media do exactly that. And nobody called them on it. My daughter made a comment to a socialist high school sub regarding the danger that Saddam posed. He smugly asked if she had any news articles to support her statements. She presented 2 pages of links to him the next day. He hasn’t looked at or spoken to her since. My daughter presented evidence that flew in the face of the media narrative which most people accept as gospel.

I think the point that any of us can & should take from the “Truthers” is that this media and government’s credibility is shot. I can’t agree that Bush knew about or planned 9-11. But I can certainly agree that our government and media are more than capable of feeding us a bunch of BS. I’ve seen it first-hand a million times over. And that is an issue that deserves to be taken up.

See, communism goes after the SYSTEMS. If it can get the infrastructure in its control, everything else is within its grasp. If they have the media, education, the economy, the military, law enforcement, the courts, the electoral system, the family, and the church they have everything.

We have to fight ALL these battles. They’re pulling a shock & awe on the nation, trying to destroy so many things so fast that we can’t form a line against them on every front.

What we CAN’T survive is friendly fire. And that is precisely what they’re trying to get us to do. Don’t give in. Everybody keep fighting the front that you are compelled to fight. Just don’t shoot anybody fighting a different, very real, also critical front.

RED STATE, I’ve never heard of your website, so I took a look. My questions: is it owned by the Eriksons’s - I see that every post on the front page is by Erik, and this story was written by Erika - are they one in the same, split personality as in male & female or husband and wife?

Not interesting enought for me. Free Republic is the reigning website for up to the minute news on the conservative side!!
