A friend's son is doing a class project that relates to firearms.

I thought it might be more accurate if a number of Adults answer his Survey instead of just college age liberal types who voted for Obama.

It does not ask for name, email or anything personal, just an opinion.

Hello this is Jeremy Marciniak, I am sending this email to ask for your participation in a survey that I have created for my Sociology Class. The Survey consists of ten questions that should take 10 minutes to answer.

This survey is completely confidential and your name will never be seen on anything.

Please copy this link into your browsers address bar if you are willing to take this survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L7GWWV6

Please feel free to forward this email to your friends so that they may take the survey. The survey shall remain open until Tuesday February 16, 2010. Thank you

TOPICS: Culture/Society; News/Current Events; Philosophy
KEYWORDS: 2ndamendment; firearms; guncontrol
I'm sure some of you folks have an opinion on the subject matter.

10. Should any person who gets the proper education and the applicable permits be allowed to purchase any kind of firearm at the age of 18?

Applicable permits? bad question

The survey was biased... who says permits should be needed at all?

Applicable permits?

The Constitution of the U.S.A. is my permit. The state you live in has brain-washed the sheeple.

Yep, that last question is very badly worded. No one should need a permit to purchase a firearm. While it is a good idea to get ‘training’ for a firearm, again, there shouldn’t be any required training prior to purchase.

A firearm is much simpler to operate than a car. One can basically figure out everything (including breakdown and cleaning) by reading the manual (or even just a few select pages) and going to the range once or twice.

Others have addressed it, but questions 7-10 have incorrect premises.

Questions 7-9 could be consolidated to this one question:

“Do you think that peaceable humans have the unalienable right to own any weapons for hunting, sporting, self defense, fighting tyranny and all other peaceable or just purposes?”

And number 10 makes the assumption that government approval should be necessary for the exercise of that right.

If your friend’s son would change the wording of this survey, I would take it.

For the reasons given by other posters, I would not be able respond to such a survey. A significant portion of your target audience would not be able to find the “correct” answers among those offered.

#10 should be revised to remove “permits”.
