Not surprising at all. A “large majority” put Clinton in office. As well as Obama.

Next on their agenda is pedophiles and lowering the age of consent to 13.

If anyone else doesn’t see the writing on the wall, they’re blind.

Please take your love for gays in the military elsewhere. Most people are against it, whether you like it or not.

And then putting them on the front lines, and getting on with a few little wars....

Usually the first to go are the Marines, and/or special forces. I'd rather not have the gays get a leg up in either of those two groups.

Personally I don't think it would work, as the reactions of heterosexuals in the military would make it unfeasable. I don't think it's a good idea. What I'm saying is that most people are for it whether we like it or not, and it has been that way for a long time. I'm looking for a public poll that disputes that.

However, by a 54 to 38 percent margin, those surveyed also believe that gays serving in the military should limit displaying their sexual orientation on the job.

Which is what Don't ask, Don't tell really does. Seems America wants to go from a "gays can't serve, but we'll let them get away with it so long as they don't tell", to "gays CAN server, as long as they don't tell".

The only problem I would have with the change is that "telling" would then simply make a gay person "no longer fit for duty", and they would probably get discharged with honors, meaning it would be an easy way to get out of your service.

Under existing policy, since being gay isn't acceptable, you wouldn't just "out yourself" to get out of serving, because there would be consequences.

I would add that any person caught having sex with a person not their spouse should be punished. Not discriminatory, it would apply to both homosexuals and heterosexuals.

I don’t know why. How many polls have you seen that are started by conservatives? Would they be in the media? Would you even see them?

I don't doubt this at all. This is a way for people to appear to be so "good and open-minded" expressing an opinion that will have no direct impact on them.

Take another poll to see how many people would support out and proud homosexuals teaching their children.

Men don’t support it that is sure and even fewer would support it if they knew what it would mean in terms of truly open homosexuals and the forced indoctrination of young recruits to the advantage of homosexual activists. It wouldn’t take long to turn public opinion against this if conservative commentators weren’t such cowards on the issue.

*slaps forehead* Ok, carry on all. I just see so many people being amazed at this poll and saying it couldn't be right, when I had thought this had been pretty accepted common knowledge for a long time. I have no doubt at all that if only conservatives were polled the result would be strongly against it.

Well the majority of military don’t support it. Women in the military do which shows why they shouldn’t be there.

I doubt that most of those who support gays in the military have considered the possible problems that might result. How about morale in an Infantry company deployed in a night defensive position with two gay soldiers (who rarely get any “alone time”) assigned to a listening post. Feel secure? Maybe we will have to look at concurrent reassignment of gay soldiers so they can be together in a new assignment. How long will it be before gay soldiers are authorized to live in family quarters? How about the morale of the NCO/Officer who cannot get family quarters due to the fact that many of the units are occupied with unmarried gay couples? Will gay military couples adopt children?

This issue is not as simple as some would suggest.

“the marketing of deviance”

which only makes sense if their intent is to destroy American society, which was always the Soviet intent.

“if only conservatives were polled the result would be strongly against it”

and America is overwhelmingly conservative.

A large majority of U.S. voters believe that homosexual men and women should be allowed to serve openly in the US military, according to a poll out Wednesday.

That's one good way of shipping them out of our country, I suppose. It's better they're over there than here, right?

It is. The left only wins when conservatives stay home and/or don’t think they have a chance and/or think they have to settle.

Blah blah, it’d be just as easy to say the same thing about the other side. In fact, we’re going to make some decent ground in the congressional elections this year for that very reason.
