Posted on 02/11/2010 8:26:49 AM PST by BornToBeAmerican

Who listened to Debra Medina on Beck and came away disgusted. She basically admitted that she is a 911 Truther.

Her run has ended

That quuote of yours from a poster you read in a blog...

Medina all the way!!! She will speak the truth about 9/11. Namely, that Bush knew and that it was step one to boosting his bank account and his buddies’ war machine economy. Neither Perry nor Hutchison will speak this truth. Only Medina. It is also time to legalize marijuana now. Release all the drug possessors from prison. Only Medina is willing to admit this plan is the only way to balance the budget. Shut down our borders. Let nobody in, nobody out. Do NOT let any foreign goods on our soil. Root out the trilateral commission from the highest ranks of government and send them all to prison.

Hmmmm..., that sounds just like some Paul-bots that I've read, before, here on Free Republic. LOL...

If she would have said NO, then she would have alienated anyone who does believe the Feds had a role in 911. Then, all of you Perry supporters would be crawling out of the baseboards and condemning her for that.

Good. These insane shrieking nutjobs deserve to be not just alienated, but shunned from polite society. I highly doubt any sane person would condemn her for alienating truthers. It would be like condemning someone for disinfecting their house.

>> Beck set out to destroy Debra from the beginning. Good for Beck. Apparently she needed to be destroyed. She’s a nut. SnakeDoc

Sad but true. If she was solid, she would have engaged in meaningful conversation, and given a resounding "HELL NO!"...it just came off really weird... I admit, I was stunned...sigh...I just put a Medina bumper sticker on my car this morning.....looks like it's coming off.....

Medina Campaign Responds to Glenn Beck Interview

by Debra Medina on Feb 11, 2010

I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9/11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

The question surprised me because it’s not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.

The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it’s Rick Perry and his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that’s the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be.

You were saying ...

I notice you didn’t make any comments about professional pilots who question the 9/11 Commission Report. Now’s your chance.

No need to do that... just give everyone, here -- the "nuts list" of people who think that 9/11 was some kind of "inside job"... LOL...

Some organizations in the nutty 9/11 Truther Movement

[ Caution: reading some of these nutty groups may cause blindness and brain tumors. Proceed with caution. This is probably what happened to Medina... :-) ... ]

No commentary is necessary ... they’re a self-discrediting group. I’ve heard these people on Amy Goodman’s “Democracy Now!” radio show on Pacifica radio. If you want to align yourself with them, go right ahead.

Ah, poor Debra, it's all that meanie Glenn Beck's fault that she didn't just come out and say the truthers are full of crapola!

Hint - if she can't handle Glenn Beck interviews, she's not up for the job of being governor.

> If you don’t disavow trutherism, you’re a truther. Period.

Should we distance ourselves from ALL Conspiracy theorists?

If so, YOU should NOT be here on Free Republic then. We're quite an eclectic and diverse pack.

For example, ask Non-Sequitur about his theories regarding the Lincoln assassination.

For someone who denounces “birthers,” Non-Sequitur’s beliefs on the Lincoln assassination may surprise even the most staunch “after-birthers” here.

Somewhat related link.

It’s a Michael Crichton essay on the history of Politicized Science, and how goverments and intellectuals will follow along like sheep.

You were quoting Medina ...

I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way.

BUT, I'm looking for that evidence and it will show that they knew about it and did nothing [because it was an excellent "opportunity" doncha know...]. And when I find it, then I'll tell you I have believed that our government was at fault from the beginning!

:-)

Give it up. Your gal just outed herself as a nutbar, and many of her biggest supporters here on FR have tossed her overboard. As they should. BTW, comparing the toxic bilge of 9-11 trutherism to historic speculation about the Lincoln assassination is almost as absurd as your defenses of Melina on this thread.

> Your gal is a nutbar. Deal with it.

She’s not “my gal.” I’ve thought about working on her campaign
actually, but I won’t until I hear the final word on this issue.

All (other) things considered, I like her stance over
Perry’s and Hutchison’s RINO Voting Record.

I’ll turn on her myself, once I hear her say SHE is a
Truther herself, thank you.

Would you care to say that you know more about the capabilities and handling techniques of large aircraft than the hundreds of military pilots who are also questioning the 9/11 Commission Report?

Do you think you could bring a Boeing 757 down from 7000 feet and get it to hug the ground in two minutes flat? What is the likelihood that you would get caught in a high speed stall and wipeout?

Apparently a couple of Arabs who were half trained Cessna 172 pilots were able to do it. So it must not be that difficult, huh? Why isn’t there a single commercial pilot who says they are capable of pulling this maneuver in a 757?

Jim, for anyone to question these facts is forbidden on this website isn’t it? Why, because it brings doubt onto the integrity of George Bush or because the truth would cause a serious upheaval in our government?

Those of the 9/11 Truther group and the Obama Derangement Syndrome are in a class all to themselves... :-)

Glen said Ron Paul was crazy when Paul said our economy was going to crash.

You are correct though - SHE IS NOT A POLITICIAN and did not handle the surprise question well. She did not want to alienate her supporters who believe a certain way.

She thought he was going to ask her about issues and Texas.
