To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

Trying to find it on FR. Not a Rush 24/7 so I don’t have access to the archives. But I’ve heard Sarah say in other interviews she’s against amnesty- post election.

Yes, neither were Bush, McCain, Kennedy, Pelosi or Reid. They insist that granting illegal aliens citizenship is not amnesty. They’re full of crap liars, the lot of them, and I am terribly discouraged to hear Palin joining in their torrent of weasel words.
A “pathway to citizenship” for criminal invaders is what EVERYBODY but Bush, McCain, Graham, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, and apparently, Palin mean by amnesty.

In the last election she was involved in, she stated she was for amnesty (less than two years ago).Since this article in no way indicates that Palin supports amnesty, I ask you to PROVE IT.
To: Sarah Barracuda
We’re praying for Sarah.
There’s still plenty of time for her to make her position clear, to get into several specifics about a fence, enforcement, anchor babies, etc. If she burns all her bridges for safe borders, she will win.

I swear I saw her quoted as saying the borders needed to be closed too.

You’ve misrepresented what she said and the title of the linked interview.

No one said a path to citizenship would be easy or that
it would be guaranteed. If you fail to make it with in
a specified time, it’s off you go.
It’s get with the program or go back.

"Palin: " No, I do not. I do not." " Semantics. She says she doesn't support amnesty, but does "support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants". There's no difference. It's sophistry that's people like McCain and Graham engage in.
To: Engineer_Soldier
“I got a response that I saw in “My Comments” that said Sarah supports amnesty.”
She is. She uses the “path to citizenship” code words invented for Bush on the theory this sounds nicer.
Orwellian.

......but when running with McCain, Palin expressed support for all his policies, which was completely appropriate. No, it's not appropriate. Saying, "John supports this, but this is our difference in opinion" would have been appropriate. But lying is never appropriate. I don't believe Sarah to be a liar, I just believe her to be wrong on this issue which is a very important issue.

"Maybe you should have posted the relevant Q&A completely."
And defeat the purpose of the weaselly thread?
Thanks for posting the truth, sir:
Q: "Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?"
A: "PALIN: NO, I DO NOT."
To: Sarah Barracuda
Notice whenever Sarah is on a roll, they bring up this crap. She has stated repeatedly since the election she is NOT for amnesty for illegals,
As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Opposing deportation is doublespeak for supporting amnesty. She also ignores the fact many illegals would return to their home country if the existing immigration laws were strictly enforced as illegals would realize they a better off exiting the country voluntarily. Oklahoma passed strict state immigration laws and many illegals left the state voluntarily.

A statement like this would get her booted from the Tea Party convention. A statement on Univision, during the 2008 campaign saying that she is NOT for amnesty? Evidently it did not, she was just the key note speaker at the Tea Party Convention and she is the favorite candidate of conservatives in America.

Yeah, Bush’s bill said it would cost $200 and a background check.
That’s how cheap American citizenship is to these people.

This thread is just another sordid example of the lengths to which anti-Palin posters will go. In short, they lie.

Amnesty would very quickly relegate the Republican Party to local club status with one or half a dozen reps in DC for the future as far as one can guess. That is why I cannot understand why so many Republicans are avid for it.

Next Question: Who brought Sarah to the dance?
To: theanonymouslurker
Since this article in no way indicates that Palin supports amnesty, I ask you to PROVE IT. Simply read the interview. It's her words and she's never battled this interview's integrity. It's her words; it's not a paraphrase. Don't hide your head in the sand. Just seek clarification if you need to, but don't hide your head in the sand of lying to yourself and others. Sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow.
