Interview with Sarah Palin (Palin *NOT* for Amnesty)
Univision ^ | October 26, 2008 | Univision

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

If people would stop hiring illegals for the business or homes most will return to Mexico.

Why didn't Bush and the Republicans enact laws that prosecuted, fined and jailed those that repeatedly hired them? Why did they not enact mechanisms that would have put an end to this?

Ya know what the ugly truth is?

There are plenty of politicians who support this approach. Bilbray, Demint, Vitter, Sessions, Steve King, Sensenbrenner, etc. It is called attrition thru enforcement. And most Americans support it as well.

Immigration Enforcement? Yes, We Can!

Enforcement at Work: The strategy of attrition is bearing fruit

That's nice. But if Sarah has aspirations for higher office (and I'm not sure she does) she is going to have to answer, give very satisfactory answers to conservative opinion leaders like Glen Beck, Howie Carr, etc. and the millions of conservative activists who care about immigration, and who will not be satisfied with soft-soap, weaselly, McCain/Bush like answers. And as a whole, our opinions will matter a very great deal.

If Sarah doesn't make it very clear that she is on the right side of this issue she is going nowhere, and the nastiness and obfuscation of Palin groupies like yourself will make no difference at all.

She has endorsed McCain, period. Is she hitting the campaign trail for him or attending a fund raiser or two?

I am well aware of the issues in the US Senate race in AZ and I also know that Chris Simcox was McCain’s only challenger at the time Sarah endorsed him.

You continue to say “if Sarah supports amnesty,” and she never has!

I am a Tea Partier too. I don’t know what you’re trying to tell me kabar. If you think I’m soft on immigration, think again. If you think I support McCain, think again. I am donating to JD Hayworth. I post links to his donation page on threads.

Sarah’s endorsements do not mean that she endorses the candidate’s every position and she made that clear this past weekend.

I am providing facts based on my extensive experience on this issue.”

I grew up in and live in Socal and my extensive experience on this issue is at least 50% of them are not going to leave on there own.25% of them will only leave in a body bag.

True enough. Enforcement works. And so does an economy in recession. However, the Chamber of Commerce and people like Newt want more guest worker programs. Do you know that we are still bringing in 125,000 LEGAL FOREIGN WORKERS A MONTH?

No, she, exactly like Ron Paul and John McCain, has clearly said that the abortion question is up to the states. There isn't any doubt about this. And she recently endorsed Rand Paul, Ron Paul's son, for the US Senate in KY. He too holds this same position, which pretends as if the Fourteenth Amendment does not exist. It is also one hundred and eighty degrees out of phase with the Reagan pro-life plank which has been in the GOP platform for the last twenty-five years. That plank recognizes the personhood of the child and their protection by the Fourteenth Amendment.

We will agree to disagree. There are close to 8 million illegal aliens working in this country. Checking new hires by seeing if they have a valid SSN is no more intrusive than presenting a picture ID to board a plane or vote.

SoCalPol and I both know Brian Bilbray.

Attrition Through Enforcement is outlined at the Heritage Foundation for anyone who wants details.

In the 1986 amnesty legislation, we tried amnesty without enforcement. It’s time to try enforcement without amnesty.

That would make an excellent tag-line.

Yeah, well, I've gone head to head with some of the top leaders in the border security movement on that, and they didn't change my mind. I still agree with Ben Franklin:

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

To: Arthur Wildfire! March

Please!!!! PLEASE! Not you thinking this?

Oh my eyes....

You did listen to / watch Sarah’s speech last Saturday night, didn’t you?

Do you think there is any possibility that her speech was received as it was if there was any concern whatsoever about anything Sarah supports / opposes????

There is not. There was not.

Those who still don’t understand this fact are either being willingly ignorant or have some other agenda.

I hope yours is just that maybe you think Sarah is too good to be true. I can see how some would think that.

But the good news is - she isn’t. She is real. She is right. She is not perfect. (Who is?) but SHE IS THE LEADER of our day, of this movement, of our nation for this time in which we live!

(even though as she plainly says over and over and over that this movement is not about her nor about any one leader)

When will people get this???

We will have a booth again at CPAC this year and will be sponsoring a panel on the impact of legal immigration. I have been in plenty of demonstrations including being manhandled by some of McCain's goons in Florida when they tried to stop me from entering one of his hangar rallies. I got the police to escort me in.

If Sarah Palin supports anmensty, I will devote all my time and energy to defeat her if she runs for national office. It is a matter of national survival. A bunch of us are probably going out to AZ to help JD against McCaion.
