Two men in Norway have made a splash on Google Streetview by chasing down the internet giant's camera van dressed in full scuba gear and waving pronged forks.
Photos show the pair of pranksters in Bergen, south western Norway, patiently waiting in the sun on deck chairs for the Google van to pass by.
When the van finally arrives, the men leap up and chase it all the way down the street waving their forks.
Norway's Aftenposten newspaper reports the stunt took place during the country's previous summer as Google vans were photographing the region's roads.
But the comical scene was not discovered until a new upgraded version of streetview was launched this week to include new images of Norway.
Although the Huffington Post attributed the stunt to a rise in anti-Google sentiment in Europe it is not known exactly why the men chose to chase the van.

Looks like their Viking roots take hold, again.
.
What does the van look like?
LOL maybe we need to start showng the world what a bunch of rednecks with guns look like here in flyover country.
Is there any way to opt out of having google post pictures of my house on their googles maps site. I saw the street view the other day of my house and I do not like it. I feel my privacy has been invaded for all the world to see.

My privacy is gone. I spent good monies to have my house hidden from the road and now that is gone. All to make Google and the other mappers money.
THere is a big difference between calling up an address at the end of a computer screen and going to town hall looking.
.
Thanks!
apparently, there are many different google car types.
My big city of Norvell Michigan is on street view finally but they didn’t come down my dead end street.
That is funny!
My dad got caught on the Google Street View getting out of his car in front of his house. He never saw the van, but from the shadows, trashcan, and various things on the property we narrowed it down to a Tuesday at about 12:20pm (lunch) during March ‘08.
I noticed that. You need to try another gardening service after you get the VW Van out of the weeds...
Ooooooooo, I LIKE that idea! How do I find out when the Google van is scheduled to come my way?
A Prius. Why am I not surprised?
.
Okay!
They actually had a pretty good chance of catching sight of one of my neighbors with a gun. However it does appear that they came through in the middle of summer.
We don’t have a main road and all the side streets like mine are dead end anyway. I’m kind of surprised they came through here at all since we barely qualify as a town. No gas station, no store or shops. Just a post office.

I hope that M-60 in the back yard has been demilitarized!!
(Attn: Homeland Security. THIS IS SARCASM)
The other day I was thinking that my father and his generation would have never tolerated these cameras everywhere. They would have shot them out. All of them. How far we have come in the loss of freedom.
Ha-ha! Actually, the VW van is inside the garage. I am serious. It is a ‘77 Westfalia camper.
They must be Berserkers
