Pelosi: Democrats Will 'Definitely' Retain Majority
Roll Call ^

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is literally laughing off the suggestion House Democrats could lose their majority in the midterm elections.
In an interview with Roll Call Tuesday, the top House Democrat said her party would definitely retain control of the chamber and emerge from the November balloting with much more than a simple majority.
That was a rosier view than the one offered last month by Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), when he told an interviewer he would consider Democrats successful if they simply managed to outnumber Republicans after the elections.
The assessment comes as political forecasters hike their predictions of Democratic losses and begin to discuss the possibility remote but real that the party could actually lose enough seats to cost them the majority.
But Pelosi, Speaker since Democrats assumed House control in January 2007, also made clear she is gearing up for a tough midterm battle in which she intends to scrap for each of her incumbents.
We will not be taken by surprise, she said emphatically, echoing a pledge her lieutenants have made to not repeat Democrats mistake in 1994 when the GOP caught them napping amid a rising tide of voter anger and swept them from power. I am not yielding one grain of sand. My responsibility is to protect and preserve my incumbents and thats what I intend to do
Im fighting for every seat.

Let's see:
she's confident in the illegals voting for a dem in order to keep getting free food, medical and education.
she won't accept the disdain of the dem policy
by 70% of Americans because she doesn't want more dem colleagues jumping their sinking ship.
she's just too stupid to notice what is going on around her.
she knows something we don't.

Don’t get cocky. We got them by surprise in 1994. They didn’t see it coming until it was too late. They know this is coming, and they will be pulling out all the stops to prevent a 1994. We cannot play by the same playbook, we need to do things that they have not anticipated.

She’ll have the same expression of stunned surprise she has every day. The surgeon saw to that.

Correct.
The only thing is, they have been warned early by losing the US Senate seat in Massachusetts, and are busy trying to “move to the center” before the elections in November.
Good news is, in reality, they are still perusing exactly the same hard line, left wing policies, so they are not going to get anywhere.

Pelosi says the most outrageous lies with a straight face.
On the bright side, if she’s beaten, she can get a job as being herself in a wax museum.

If you are so positive at retaining thr Democratic majority in the House offer up a bet. If you fail to retain the majority will you resign right after the election?

A lot of voters will stay home on November 2 because they won’t be able to get to the polls because of the snow drifts (that global warming thing). Pelosi must think that the 12 million illegals will all vote Democrat, but forgets that they are not evenly distributed around the country—a lot of them are in districts which are heavily Democratic already.
To: CPT Clay
My current, pulled right out of thin air, bet is 50 seats. Based on the anger level being about the same as it was in 1994. If the dems can bring down the anger level they may have a chance, but if unemployment stays up no amount of "Hope & Change" and "Blame Bush" is going to help them.
On the Senate side we had a thread a week or so ago that came up with eleven seats that could go from blue to red. But we would need to win all eleven to gain control since plugs casts the tie breaker. So I would bet that we will see a 7 seat swing in the Senate, with the dems keeping control with a new, blue dog, leader (Since Reid will be one of the 7). There just aren't enough blue seats up for grabs for us to comfortably pick up 11.
