AP: Three security guards watched a group of teens punch, kick and rob a 15-year-old girl in the downtown Seattle Metro bus tunnel without intervening. Security video shows the guards call for help on their radios, but they don't go to the aid of the girl even as she is being kicked in the head. A dispute involving a group of 10 teens apparently started inside a department store the evening of Jan. 28 and moved to the bus tunnel at Westlake Station, where the girl was attacked
Caught on Tape: Seattle Security Guards Stand By as Girl Brutally Attacked
3 big, grown men just watch as a 15 yr old girl gets the crap beat out of her and repeatedly kicked in the head as they just watch and ignore that is happening.
Awful!

what has happened to this country...?
videos, uncaring guards, injury, punitive
Yes, it is horrible. I'm not defending the actions (or in-actions) of the guards, but given the state - Washington - I got a dollar that says they weren't allowed to be armed. They still should have helped, but they may have been much more likely to have helped had they been armed.
If they were watching, then they were not ignoring. Ignoring would be if they walked away or turned their backs on the incident, and didn’t call it in. What they did, instead, was to, through inaction, condone the attack and they, IMHO, should be charged with a crime. They were hired to provide security, and they failed in their responsibilities. Dispicable.

Mace/Pepper Spray? I can’t speak to what WA state allows, but Security guards in CA are allowed to carry these items and use them. Perhaps arming security guards (which does occur in some jurisdictions) is something which needs to be considered?
Bizarre, I walk over that station twice a day. I hope the girl sues the sh!t out of Metro and their “Security” firm.
Not condoning their inaction but the city’s contract specifies that they observe and report. A large part of the blame goes to the city for their failure to make it a policy to have people there to intervene. Still, those guards should be ashamed of themselves - but shame is probably not a concept they are familiar with.
Being a paid security guard is one thing - that is their job.
BUT as a private citizen, and were on the scene, I doubt I would have got involved. Who knows if one of the kids is carrying a gun, what the fight is about, or if it is gang-related.
Call me cynical. Its part of the reason I don’t live near a city.
My personal belief is that the more guns we put in the hands of the "good guys" the better off we'd be.
I can't think of a single shooting incident that couldn't have been curtailed or prevented had an armed security guard (or civilian) been in the immediate vicinity. That shooting at the Jewish museum in DC last year comes to mind. It was armed security guards that took down the shooter, I believe.
Hey she’s older than 10, which Planned Barrenhood is when sex should start so she is old enough to take care of herself. //sarcasm
There were more than just the guards there too, and nobody did nothing. Reminds me of the after school gang rape from Richmond CA a month or so back.
All that poor girl needs is a hungry lawyer. She could own the that company - and maybe a lot more. I don’t care what went on in the store or elsewhere, those thugs came out, beat her down, robbed her, and the “security” folks watched and possibly called someone on the radio. Big whoopie.
I see three adults that should be unemployed immediately. Period. There is NOT excuse.
