Critics of Michael Steele's tenure as Republican National Committee chairman are motivated by racism, Steele suggested in an interview published on Tuesday.
Speaking to Washingtonian magazine (no online version), Steele wondered why his Democratic National Committee counterpart doesn't get the same criticism he does.
"I don’t see stories about the internal operations of the DNC that I see about this operation," Steele said. "Why? Is it because Michael Steele is the chairman, or is it because a black man is chairman?”

Just so there’s no misunderstanding: Mr. Steele, my dad is Caucasian, my mom is Melungeon and Cherokee. I don’t really care about race, human race aside. I do care about rather milquetoast performance and a lack of conservative principles.Progressive/moderate spew can be saved for another position. Do a decent job that reflects the opinions of those whom you represent, and you will be well thought of.

Wow. Steele is acting like a Democrat. This really makes me sad. I wanted to see him succeed but now, if I criticize his actions, I’m a racist? I can hear that from my Leftist friends and family when I don’t support Zero’s Marxist agenda. I don’t want to hear this from Steele.

I supported your candidacy to be party chairman. My only reservations about you, came after you had the job, and didn’t appear to be doing anything but glad handing Leftie MSM talking heads. And those were mostly muted when I learned of your aid to the election of Masss’ Brown win.
