big time lib area- all drive mercedes and bmw’s with obama stickers on the back of them...
That’s too bad, although it would be interesting to see how much difference between his margin vs. prior races won by Dems there. 62% in an overwhelming Dem district doesn’t sound like a spectacular margin.
Nope. It is a race for the 24th Assembly district in northeast Queens, and Weprin (the Dem Rodent who sent the mailer in question) has been declared the winner, unfortunately.
True, but we won a City Council race within this district (won by a an out of the closet Pagan no less!) not too long ago. The largest voting block are Jewish Americans, but you have a growing (and increasingly active) Korean community there as well.
Too bad, if there was ever a candidate deserving of defeat, it’s Weprin.
Forgot to ping you to this, looks like we picked up 2 seats in the NY Assembly tonight, so at 42 seats, that’ll put us back up to where we were with the 2006 elections.
I worked on a campaign to dislodge his brother several years ago. They have one hell of a patronage machine, especially amongst the large senior population in the district.
the ground game always worked for the Packers, Steelers and it won’t hurt us if we add some west coast, of Alaska, fire power to the mix.
Wonderful news!
Very happy for you, God luvs America!
Thanks for the ping, hoosiermama.
Was able to locate it, that 38% was the highest percent for a GOP candidate in the 24th in the modern era. Next highest was in ‘94 against Mark Weprin when Paul Damato got 33%.
In Nov 2004, Castelli lost this seat to Adam Bradley:
Bradley ...... Castelli
32675 ......... 22949
59% ........... 41%
Bradley was uncontested in ‘06 and ‘08.
turnout today was very light compared to the
55624 turnout for 2004. Less than 18% today.
This is Great News.. As a native New Yorker( Born in Yonkers, raised in Yorktown Heights) and now a Texan by choice for over 30 years, I was really worried about New York, the rest of the family still lives there.. With the results of all the recent elections there and in the rest of the state, there still might be some hope left...
I live in Yonkers and Castelli is a regular guy. The lib idiot who he was running against was your typical leftist dolt.
People are really upset at the taxes we pay and I have never seen so many people so angry.
GREAT!
Why the special election in that district and the 3rd? Others?
Excellent. The News in NYC is not so good. The Weprin clan have kept their City Council seat.
Republican Ed Lynch http://electlynch.com/
Runing for Congress from FL District 19 to fill the seat vacated by Robert Wexler. This special election will be held on April 13, 2010.
This was clearly a grass-roots effort and indicative of things to come in New York State.
Thanks for the ping, Clintonfatigued.
What great news out of deep blue New York state tonight! My husband and I met a great group of Tea Party activists from Albany, NY - "The Albany Militia" - on January 18 in Littleton, Massachusetts, at an election eve Scott Brown rally. The Albany Militia traveled all the way from Albany to participate in several of Scott's rallies in MA that day. I'll bet they had a hand in this NY victory. :o)
Thanks for the ping!
