As much as I disliked and detested that man, I did not wish ill towards him personally, but I simply wished he would excuse himself from public office.

I have communicated with some US Marines who felt quite differently about him.

I certainly wish we could defeat old Sheets Byrd at the ballot box -- but realistically I know that is a joy we will never savor. He will be going out the same way Murtha is going out.
