BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Ontario police have charged the senior officer at CFB Trenton in south-eastern Ontario with first-degree murder in the deaths of Jessica Lloyd and a second Ontario woman, Marie France Comeau.
Wing commander Col. Russell Williams, 46, was arrested Sunday and is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lloyd, 27. She was reported missing Jan. 29, after she didn't show up for work. Lloyd last communicated with a family friend on Jan. 28 at 10:36 p.m. through text messaging.
Helicopter and ground searches near her Belleville home, about 180 kilometres northeast of Toronto, turned up nothing. Her body was found Monday.
Comeau, 38, was found dead in her home, in Brighton, Ont., on Wednesday, Nov. 25, around 1 p.m. She was a corporal in the Armed Forces and a flight attendant based at Trenton.

Looks like a creep to me
Why?
If that is an enquiry as to motive, the obvious come to mind: Fear of discovery of an inappropriate sexual relationship. He may have been a straight arrow and then his marriage hit a rough patch and he made foolish choices. Who knows?
Well, gee, now we know all about his back story. However, we know very little to nothing about the two victims, and absolutely nothing about his connection to them (other than the one being in the service - likely not even in the same branch or located at the same base), the connection between the two victims, if any, or why he was suspected/arrested.
No, I was wondering why Synthex said "Looks like a creep to me".

Col. Russell Williams, 46, was also charged Monday in connection with sexual assault in two home invasions in the Tweed area, Det. Insp. Chris Nicholas said at a news conference today in Belleville.
I do not know anything about the guy but I know how Canadian media operates. Whenever there is a gross violation of journalist ethics, it is a tell tale of the influence from above.
Media has trialed and convicted him already. Maybe they are right, but I have serious reservation, only because my experience with Canadian media.
Read the article...she was with another squadron on the base that he commanded. Same branch (CFB Trenton is an Air Force facility...even though the Canadian Forces are “unified”), same base.

I read the article. The article linked to didn’t mention any link between units, only that Comeau was in the military. The Toronto Sun article, linked in post 9, gets more details. However, it lists two different unit numbers for Comeau, one of which appears to be a unit the suspect commanded a few years ago. It also mentions she was new to the area, so I’m thinking she was not in the unit at the same time he was. Weird. I still want to know how they linked to him? There were also two other crimes mentioned.
He was base commander at CFB Trenton, her unit (437) is based at Trenton. Not a far stretch to say he knew her, you’d be surprised who base commanders in the CF know...Trenton is not ar large base by US standards.
As far as linking him, I read that a witness ID’d him.
Someone in the media wants to keep 8th wing out of the bigger picture. Move on, folks, nothing to see here...
I'll tell you one thing. None of this makes sense. The base commander?

On Thursday, Martial Law will be declared, and he and Marie Comeau were planning to blow the whistle.
Jessica Lloyd was killed in November. She worked for the Tri-Board Student Transportation Services in Napanee.

8 Wing is the primary lodger unit at CFB Trenton, in this case, Wing Commander = Base Commander.
Wing commander = base commander in this case.
